Field Training Visit to the Japan Foundation Library in Cairo
As part of the practical training program for students of the Japanese Language Department at Ahram Canadian University, an academic visit was organized to the Japan Foundation Library in Cairo on October 22nd.
The visit aimed to deepen students’ cultural and linguistic understanding while bridging academic study with hands-on experience in a specialized educational environment.

The event offered a valuable opportunity for cultural exchange and community engagement, allowing students to interact with native speakers and experience the spirit of Japanese school life firsthand.🏆🏅

📢 Japanese Language Department Students Experience the Art of Tea at the Japan Foundation, Cairo! 🍵

We are pleased to share highlights from the May Tea Ceremony, conducted in the Ryūrei-Dana style and hosted by Urasenke Egypt in collaboration with the Japan Foundation, Cairo. It was a privilege to attend alongside the Director of the Japan Foundation, as well as distinguished faculty and students from various universities.

The serene ambiance was beautifully complemented by traditional Japanese tea, paired with exquisite Yōkan sweets—artfully crafted in the shape of watermelon to celebrate the season. This immersive experience provided students with a deeper appreciation of Japanese culture and its rich traditions.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Japan Foundation for organizing this remarkable event. We look forward to more cultural engagements that strengthen our understanding and connection to Japan’s heritage!

May 12, 2025 - Ahram Canadian University had the distinct honor of welcoming His Excellency Iwai Fumio, the Japanese Ambassador to Egypt, alongside the esteemed Cultural Counselor, Mr. Satoshi Itō. During their visit, they met with University President Professor Dr. Khaled Hamdy to further strengthen academic and cultural collaboration between the university and the Japanese Embassy in Cairo.

The visit was highlighted by a ceremonial ribbon-cutting, marking the generous donation of 170 books about Japan from the Nippon Foundation, a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to fostering international cooperation. Covering a diverse range of subjects—including politics, international relations, economics, culture, and the arts—this invaluable collection will serve as a significant resource in deepening academic engagement and cross-cultural understanding within the university. 🇪🇬🤝🇯🇵
