🌿✨ BioDay at STEM Dakahlia was truly unforgettable!

Organized by the awesome BioClub, we had the honor of hosting a number of visitors and especially Temai Prep Girls School for a day full of science, fun, and inspiration! 💡
The day included a tour around school and labs 🔍🔬, the research paper competition where students showcased some seriously impressive work, and the amazing projects presentation from Grade 12 students full of creativity 🌟.

One of the highlights of the day was a helpful and engaging orientation session led by student Mazen Haitham – he did an amazing job guiding the guests and sharing useful insights 👏🎓

And to wrap things up, we had a special visit from S"21 previous students

,who shared valuable advice about university life, studying abroad, and how to prepare for what’s next 🌍📚

🌿✨ كان اليوم البيولوجي في STEM الدقهلية يومًا لا يُنسى حقًا!

بتنظيم من النادي الحيوي الرائع، كان لنا شرف استضافة عدد من الزوار وخاصة مدرسة تمي الإعدادية للبنات ليوم مليء بالعلوم والمرح والإلهام! 💡
تضمن اليوم جولة في أرجاء المدرسة والمختبرات 🔍🔬🔬، ومسابقة الأوراق البحثية حيث عرض الطلاب بعض الأعمال الرائعة للغاية، وعرض المشاريع المذهلة من طلاب الصف الثاني عشر المليئة بالإبداع 🌟.

كان من أبرز أحداث اليوم الجلسة التوجيهية المفيدة والجذابة التي قادها الطالب مازن هيثم - لقد قام بعمل رائع في توجيه الضيوف ومشاركة الأفكار المفيدة 👏🎓

In accordance with the will and in the spirit of spreading knowledge, a lecture was organized to share and exchange experiences, illuminate the path for the first and second grades, and assist them in achieving the highest grades in biology. The most important resources related to studying biology, how to study it, and practicing with previous exam models were mentioned. They were also reminded of the role of the DK Biology Club in assisting them during their current and future academic years. 📚

Continuing the ongoing efforts of the DK Biology Club to instill the principles of science and knowledge in biology, a school broadcast titled "Biology in Our Lives" was organized. Its content praised the influencers and discoverers in the field of biology, mentioning many names who received the highest degrees of recognition and honor, the Nobel Prize, among whom were:

1- Sydney Brenner: He joined the institute in 2000 and won the Nobel Prize in Physiology. 🧬

2- David Hubel: A doctor at Harvard Medical School and the recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1981. 🧪

3- Françoise Barré-Sinoussi: Director of the Retroviral Infection Department at the Pasteur Institute, she received the Nobel Prize in Virology in 2008. 🔬

استكمالا للمجهودات المتوارة التي يبذلها DK Biology Club لترسيخ مباديء العلم و المعرفة بالأحياء, تم تنظيم إذاعة مدرسية بعنوان " الأحياء في حياتنا " و التي كان مضمونها الإشادة بالمؤثرين والمكتشفين بمجال الأحياء و التي تذكر خلالها العديد من الأسماء التي حصلت علي أعلي درجات التقدير و التكريم وهي جائزة نوبل, و كان من أبرزهم:

1- سيدني برينر : انضم الي المعهد عام 2000 و حصل علي جائزة نوبل في علم وظائف الأعضاء.

2- ديفيد هوبل : دكتور في كلية الطب بجامعة هارفرد و حصل علي جائزة نوب عام 1981 في الفزيولوجيا العصبية.

3- فرانسواز باري-سينوسي : مديرة قسم عدوى الفيروسات القهقرية في مؤسسة باستور , حصلت علي
جائزة نوبل عام 2008 في علم الفيروسات.

Hey future botanists! 🌿 Let's explore the incredible world of plant anatomy! Plants are amazing living beings, just like us, made up of cells. But what's unique about them is their structure, which allows them to grow, thrive, and adapt to their surroundings.

One fascinating aspect of plants is their vascular tissues, specialized for transporting water, minerals, and food throughout the plant. Xylem carries water and minerals from roots to the rest of the plant, while phloem transports sugars and other nutrients produced by photosynthesis.

Plant tissues are classified by function, like meristematic tissue for growth, and structure, like parenchyma for metabolic functions, collenchyma for flexible support, and sclerenchyma for rigid support.

Let's dive into the world of plants and discover their amazing complexity! 🌱
