15 April 1901, a very special day which marks laying the foundation stone of one of the most prestigious schools this world has ever known, Victoria College. It's a school which dearly believed, as said by Mr. Lias our school's very first headmaster, that "If lessons of life are to be taught, not only must be heads trained to think, but also hearts to feel." As an old Victorian, it fills my heart

with tremendous pride that I have once walked the same ground great kings and nobles have once also walked, attended classes that witnessed the germination of some of the most brilliant minds in the world and saluted the very same flag that scholars of all nations of the world have once also stood before and shown respect and loyalty to all over the years. One is nowhere capable of separating his whole life from a past, and a place, where he had the very first, most cherished memories of his life and was brought up to the world and to the future at. A place, which had witnessed the top of his success as well as the bitter, rock bottom of his failure. It becomes clearly rational, after being so deeply touched by the warmth of our beloved school for a very well appreciated portion of our lives, and after going through such overwhelming experiences, that we got nothing to show to our dear Victoria College but our wholehearted love, respect and everlasting loyalty.

Iconic Egyptian entertainer Samir Sabry has passed away aged 85 years old after a struggle with illness.
One of the biggest names in Egyptian entertainment, Sabry was born in Alexandria in 1936 where he enrolled at Victoria College before going on to study in the English language department at the faculty of Arts, Alexandria University.
