جامعة دمياط تتقدم 14 مركزًا عالميًا في تصنيف UI GreenMetric 2026 للجامعات الأكثر استدامة في العالم

واصلت جامعة دمياط تقدمها في التصنيفات الدولية، حيث حققت تقدمًا جديدًا في تصنيف UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026، الذي يقيس أداء الجامعات في مجال الاستدامة ، وذلك بصعودها 14 مركزًا عالميًا لتحتل المركز 860 عالميًا من بين 1,745 جامعة مشاركة من 105 دول، مقارنة بالمركز 874 في نسخة 2025، بما يعكس ما تبذله الجامعة من جهود متواصلة لترسيخ ممارسات الاستدامة وتعزيز مكانتها في التصنيفات الدولية.
كما حققت الجامعة تقدمًا ملحوظًا على المستويين الأفريقي والمحلي، حيث جاءت في المركز 33 أفريقيًا، متقدمة مركزين مقارنة بالعام السابق، الذي احتلت فيه المركز 35 أفريقيًا، إلى جانب تحقيقها المركز 21 محليًا، متقدمة أربعة مراكز عن المركز 25 في نسخة 2025.
وتعكس هذه النتائج جهود جامعة دمياط في ترسيخ مفهوم الاستدامة المؤسسية والبيئية، وتعزيز الممارسات الجامعية المرتبطة بالبيئة والبنية التحتية وإدارة الموارد والطاقة والنقل والتعليم والبحث العلمي والاستدامة المجتمعية، بما يتوافق مع التوجهات العالمية وأهداف التنمية المستدامة.
ويأتي هذا التقدم ثمرة لتضافر جهود قطاعات الجامعة المختلفة، ودعم إدارة الجامعة لملفات الاستدامة والتصنيفات الدولية، والعمل المستمر على تطوير الأداء .
وتؤكد وحدة التصنيفات والنشر الدولي بجامعة دمياط أن استمرار التقدم في التصنيفات الدولية يمثل مؤشرًا مهمًا على التطور المؤسسي للجامعة، ويعزز حضورها على الخريطة الدولية للتعليم العالي، في إطار رؤية الجامعة نحو تحقيق مزيد من التميز والاستدامة، وتعزيز مكانتها محليًا وإقليميًا ودوليًا.
وفي هذا السياق، يتقدم الأستاذ الدكتور حمدان ربيع المتولي، رئيس جامعة دمياط، بخالص الشكر والتقدير إلى الأستاذ الدكتور محمد عبدالحميد شهاب، نائب رئيس الجامعة لشئون الدراسات العليا والبحوث، وإلى الأستاذة الدكتورة أماني الديسطي، مدير وحدة التصنيفات والنشر الدولي، وفريق عمل الوحدة، تقديرًا لما بذلوه من جهود مخلصة وعمل دؤوب في متابعة ملف التصنيفات الدولية، وإعداد وتطوير البيانات والمؤشرات ذات الصلة، بما أسهم في تحقيق هذا التقدم الجديد لجامعة دمياط.
وأكد رئيس الجامعة أن ما تحقق هو نتاج للعمل المؤسسي وتضافر جهود جميع قطاعات الجامعة، متمنيًا لهم دوام التوفيق ومواصلة تحقيق المزيد من الإنجازات التي تعزز مكانة الجامعة محليًا ودوليًا.
Damietta University ِAdvances 14 Places in the UI Green Metric World University Rankings 2026
The UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026, which assess universities’ performance in the field of sustainability, were announced today. Damietta University has continued its progress in the global ranking, securing 860th place worldwide among 1,745 participating universities from 105 countries.
In the 2026 edition, Damietta University climbed 14 places in the global ranking, moving from 874th place worldwide in the 2025 edition to 860th place in 2026. This progress reflects the University’s continued efforts to strengthen sustainable practices and improve its performance in accordance with international standards.
The University also achieved notable progress in the African and national rankings. It ranked 33rd in Africa, climbing two places from 35th in the 2025 edition. At the national level, Damietta University ranked 21st in Egypt, climbing four places from 25th in the 2025 edition.
These results reflect Damietta University’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional and environmental sustainability and promote sustainable practices related to the environment, infrastructure, resource and energy management, transportation, education, research, and community sustainability. These efforts are aligned with global sustainability trends and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This progress is the result of the concerted efforts of various sectors across the University, together with the support of the University administration for sustainability initiatives and international rankings. It also reflects the University’s continuous efforts to improve institutional performance and enhance the quality of the data and indicators submitted for international rankings, as well as the practices that demonstrate the University’s commitment to sustainability.
The International Rankings and Research Unit at Damietta University emphasizes that continued progress in international rankings is an important indicator of the University’s institutional development and strengthens its presence on the global higher education map. This progress forms part of the University’s vision of achieving further excellence and sustainability while strengthening its position at the local, regional, and international levels.
In this context, Prof. Hamdan Rabie El-Metwally, President of Damietta University, extends his sincere appreciation and gratitude to Prof. Mohamed Abdelhamid Shehab, Vice President for Higher Studies and Research, Dr. Amany Eldiasty, Head of the International Rankings and Research Unit, and the entire team of the International Rankings at the University. He highly commended their dedicated efforts and continuous work in monitoring the University’s international rankings, preparing and developing the relevant data and indicators, and supporting the University’s continued progress in the rankings.
