Did you know that Canyon is becoming as famous and appreciated as Blue Hole? 😮
It's a crack that was formed during an earthquake that touched the Gulf of Aqaba. It's an amazing dive site for advanced level divers as you can descend deep into the canyon and let its unique atmosphere engulf you. On the way there you usually meet some friendly pufferfish, sting rays and sometimes even an octopus or two!
If you'd like to see the map of Canyon or know more about this dive site or others, head over to our web site that includes dive site maps and thorough descriptions 😎 See you underwater! 🌊

Winter time in Dahab 💨
It may sound unbelievable to some but 24 degree water isn't actually that warm!

Today's Topic - Check dives 🧐
What does it mean?
When do you have to do them?
Why?
What do you mean by a "check" dive?
It is a program for when divers receive an assistance and supervision from a dive professional in shallow water, while they review basic skills of diving.
The main point of this program is to make sure that you, as a diver, feel comfortable in the water, remember skills you were taught during your courses and to check if you are ready to do more challenging dives.
Some diving centers will let you make a choice, others will insist on making a check dive. Ultimately it is your choice either to make a check dive or not but please consider a few things before you make a decision. If you are a diver without hundreds and thousands of dives and you haven't been diving for 6 months or more, your skills have probably gotten rusty, same as with any skill you do not use on daily basis.
The life of the diver themselves, other divers they might be diving with and, also their guides and instructors might depend on their competence in the water. One diver's inability to perform basic dive skills can quickly lead to a dangerously unsafe set of circumstances. Poor buoyancy control is the most common problem exhibited by divers, often leading to the most dangerous situations. Panic associated with flooded masks is another common problem, and it's important that a diver's buoyancy and mask clearing skills are assessed as early as possible.
Also a check dive is a perfect time to make sure you are weighted properly and feel comfortable under water, as well as to check any new equipment you may have!

Hello fellow divers! 🌊
When we were creating this group, we were thinking, what exactly are we going to talk about here? Apart from advertising ourselves and offering our services that is 🙂
So we came up with a few ideas: making posts about diving topics, ones that, during your courses, are mentioned but not emphasized enough on, or just not mentioned at all, yet important enough for you to become good divers. We have created quite a long list of topics to talk about, and will be making posts on them, 1-2 times in a week. These posts are meant to have educational value so questions, opinions and insights are appreciated. If there is a topic related to diving or traveling lifestyle you would like us to cover, please don't hesitate to ask. We will do our best to get you answers or explanations asap!
Best regards,
