st two years, the model gained respectable notoriety and popularity, reaching an outcome of two hundred delegates from all over the capital in their second conference. Under the wise guidance of its founders and high board members, the model worked its way and left a mark in the Egyptian and International MUN scenes, with its alumni achieving multiple awards on a number of socio-political events and conferences and getting invited to a number of top-notch senior and junior level conferences in different political capitals of the world. Taken down by the tired atmosphere of junior-level conferences in Egypt, our founders found a pressing need to create an innovative conference, introducing new concepts and ideas into MUN, which might be greatly represented in the introduction of the Higher Commission on Refugees(UNHCR) in our latest 2016 conference. Inspired by the great developments and updates in both the global social and political spheres , we found the need to address topics – like the Refugee Crisis for instance – through more specialized councils. More significantly, through deepened and fortified interactions with our delegates on multiple occasions, we realized the pivotal necessity of increasing the dosage of fun and entertainment provided through our organization and conference , thus increasing our number of events and parties throughout the week and creating a separate branch in the Organizing Committee just for that. Additionally, we were more than delighted to partner with Lilac (a youthful Egyptian initiative designated to battle mental illness) throughout the past two years, out of the absolute responsibility we hold as a student-body focused on the development of not just the intellectual but also the characteristics and social abilities of our team and delegates. ELSMUN was founded and developed on the key concept that MUN and politics aren’t just about prolonged debates and discussions. We strive to guide our participants and develop their social skills through giving brief and simple tips and tricks in many different areas, such as body language, presentation skills and public speaking. At ELSMUN, we believe in the potential hidden within our delegates and team members, and make it our goal to bring out the best in them and help them realize and reach their maximum capabilities.
