• SEG ( Society of Exploration Geophysicists ):
Is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the science of geophysics and the education of exploration geophysicists. The Society fosters the expert and ethical practice of geophysics in the exploration and development of natural resources, in characterizing the near-surface, and in mitigating earth hazards.

udent Chapter ):
Is one of SEG’s 240 (and growing!) student chapters. In Egypt, our board represents the SEG in Ain Shams University under the supervision of selected supervisor. Our student chapter supervisor is DR. Nasser Abu-Ashor.

• Our Vision:
The objective of this organization shall be to promote applied geophysics to those who are interested in, and to promote friendship and cooperation among those interested in the geophysical sciences.

100 % حصة مصر من الغاز في اتفاقيتين مع "بي بي" لتنمية حقول بالبحر المتوسط

الاناضول : قالت وزارة البترول والثروة المعدنية المصرية اليوم الأحد، إن حصة مصر من اتفاقيتين مبرمتين مع شركتي "بريتش بتريليوم" (بى بى) البريطانية و"آر دبليو اى" الألمانية لتنمية حقول الغاز فى غرب البحر المتوسط، وشمال الإسكندرية بالمياه العميقة تمثل 100% من إنتاج الغاز والمتكثفات الطبيعية.
وأضافت الوزارة في بيان لها :"الشريك الأجنبي ممثلا في "بى بى"، و"ار دبليو اى" الألمانية سوف يحصل على فئة (سعر محدد)، مقابل تكلفة إنتاج الغاز ترتبط بمعادلة سعرية".
وقال وزير البترول والثروة المعدنية المصري المهندس شريف إسماعيل، اليوم الأحد، على هامش مؤتمر دعم وتنمية الاقتصاد المصري المنعقد في شرم الشيخ، إن حجم الاستثمار الضخم الذى أعلنته شركة "بريتش بتروليوم"، والذى يبلغ حوالى 12 مليار دولار، لتنمية حقول الغاز في غرب المتوسط، يمثل حافزاً قوياً لتكثيف أعمال البحث والاستكشاف في مناطق المياه العميقة بالبحر المتوسط، ويفتح آفاقاً رحبة لاستكشاف المزيد من احتياطيات الغاز بهذه المنطقة، وذلك وفقا للبيان.
