Supertato Story – Linking Our Monthly Theme with Social & Emotional Development

At Paradise Academy, we carefully choose our stories to create a meaningful link between our monthly theme and the Social & Emotional area of learning.

For this month’s theme, we selected the story of Supertato to support character building and help children understand the concept of good versus evil — and that in the end, good always wins.

Through the story, children explore:
• What does it mean to be a superhero?
• What does it mean to make naughty or unkind choices?
• How do our actions affect others?

After storytelling, we open a discussion with the children:
• Which character do you like the most?
• Why do you want to be like Supertato?
• Would you choose to be like the Evil Pea? Why or why not?

This discussion encourages children to think deeply, express their opinions, and reflect on their own behavior.

The main goal of this story is to help children discover their own “super powers” — their inner strength, kindness, bravery, and ability to help others.

We encourage them to use their superpowers to:
• Help their friends
• Support someone in trouble
• Make positive choices
• Be kind and responsible

That is the true message behind the story — building confident, caring children who choose to be heroes in their everyday lives.
