Sea water is a big deal today so we must exploit it. There are many ways you can use, but what makes our solution special is that it can be used at homes and doesn’t cost much and it can control the amount of salts removed. The process we used is called “Electrodialysis” and it mainly depends on moving the ions of sea water through membranes fabricated from ion exchange permeable membranes. But before that we must filter the water from the suspended materials and its odor by activated carbon. To get the perfect results, we had to use “foam separation” as a method of sterilization. It removed the bacteria from the water. Now, we got water that satisfies our needs. But the practical work was a little bit different. Firstly, we couldn’t get the ion exchange permeable membranes so the Electrodialysis cell lost some efficient. We also made some changes to the materials used in order to adequate the prototype design such as the electrodes, resins (ion exchange matrices of polymers).
