مدرس بمركز تنمية المواهب بدار الاوبرا المصرية منذ 2001 وحتى الآن.

حاصل على درجة الماجستير في القانون من أكاديمية الفنون المعهد العالي للموسيقى العربية بتقدير بامتياز عام 2012.

حاصل على درجة الدكتوراه في القانون من أكاديمية الفنون المعهد العالي للموسيقى العربية بتقدير بامتياز مع مرتبة الشرف عام 2015. قام بتأليف العديد من الأعمال الفنية المعاصرة التي تبرز إمكانيات آلة القانون
وقدرتها على أداء الألوان الموسيقية المختلفة.

قام بالعديد من الحفلات والمهرجانات الدولية داخل مصر وخارجها منفرداً أو بمصاحبة مجموعته الموسيقية.

قام بتسجيل أول سي دي له عام 2011، من إنتاج شركة (بينوما) بمدريد – أسبانيا، ويحتوي السي دي على مجموعة من المؤلفات الموسيقية للفنان / صابر عبد الستار، منها مقطوعات صوفية مثل (تسابيح - سيدنا القطب - المولد)، ومقطوعات تأليف حديث من القوالب العربية مثل (السماعي البياتي المصري ولونجا "الفراشة") ومقطوعات موسيقية معاصرة، مثل (موسيقى الياسمين - فرح - غريب من هنا - حنين - الموسيقى الجديدة).

حل ضيفاً على العديد من البرامج التليفزيونية والإذاعية داخل مصر وخارجها مثل (دريم، التحرير، روتانا، المحور، النيل تي في، القناة الأولى والثانية الفضائية المصرية، إذاعة صوت العرب والبرنامج العام، وإذاعة مونت كارلو بباريس، وإذاعة الجزائر العاصمة ومدينة تلمسان بالجزائر) وغيرهم.

قدم العديد من الصولوهات المنفردة بمصاحبة أكثر من أوركسترا داخل مصر وخارجها مثل (الأوركسترا السيمفوني، أوركسترا القاهرة، أوركسترا مكتبة إسكندرية، أوركسترا قطر الفيلهارمونى، أوركسترا إيطالى بجزيرة كورسكا فرنسا، أوركسترا بلغاري في موزار المصري بباريس ومارسيليا) وغيرهم.

ويتبنى الفنان صابر عبد الستار وجهة نظر في العزف على آلة القانون تقوم على عدم التقليد وإبداع كل عازف على حدة وفق إحساسه ومهاراته وشخصيته المنفردة، وأهمية ارتباطه بالتراث ارتباط الفرع بالجذع الذى يستمد منه الحياة، ولكن مع إضافة النماء ومراعات التحديث ومحاكاة ما يستجد على الثقافه الإنسانية من متغيرات.

Bachelor of Music from the Arab Music Institute part of The Academy of Arts with a General Graduation grade: Excellent. Immediately after graduating, he taught at the Higher Institute for Arab Music, Academy of Arts from 1995 to 1998. Won first prize at playing the Kanoon in the International Competition for the Kanoon in 2001, hosted by the Arab League in Algeria. He was nominated by the Cairo Opera House where he competed with 12 contestants from different Arab countries. Started a class to teach Kanoon at Cairo Opera House in 2001 where he was joined by students of many nationalities including students from Japan, Switzerland, America, Italy, Palestine, Iraq and Tanzania. There is no age limit or any criteria other than a passion for the instrument. A public concert is held twice yearly at the Opera House to develop the skills of new players and to give them confidence to play to the public. Many Students have graduated from this class. He is also training teachers of music to be better qualified to teach Kanoon. Masters degree obtained in 2012 (Graduation Grade: Excellent) with a thesis on "Proposed exercises to facilitate better performance of chromatic phrases while playing Kanoon." PHD obtained in 2015 (Graduation Grade: Excellent with Honour.) Recorded a CD with his compositions produced in Spain in 2011, which contained many pieces of music that highlight the potential and versatility of the Kanoon, either in traditional forms like "Samae" or "Longa" or modern forms of music that suit the Kanoon and is appreciated by all audiences. Also the spiritual Sufi music like “El-Moled”, “Tasabih” and “Sayedna El Kotb”. Performed as a soloist or accompanied by his ensemble in many local and international events. Appeared as a guest on many radio and television shows and programs, both local and international, including (Dream, Rotana, Al Mehwar, Nile TV, 1st and 2nd ESC, Radio Arab, Voice Arabs, Monte Carlo Radio - Paris, Algeria Capital Radio, Telmsan) among others. Performed many solos with several local and international orchestras such as (Orchestra Symphony, Cairo Orchestra, Bibliotheca Alexandrina Orchestra, Qatar Orchestra Philharmonic, Orhcestra Italy - Corsica, France, Bulgarian Orchestra, Egyptian Mozart in Paris and Marsilea) among others. As a player he has a vision that kanoon playing should not be imitative but creative depending on the free imagination, creativity, skills and individual personality of each player. The versatility of the instrument means that its music appeals to a wide range of audiences.
