Congratulations Dr. Ahmed Moustafa (Professor and Chair of the Biology department) who has been awarded a grant to bridge coronavirus research disparities within the Middle East and North Africa, leading to better health outcomes.

Ahmed Moustafa, professor and chair of AUC's Department of Biology, has been awarded $2.1 million from Wellcome Trust for a project that will establish molecular surveillance of the coronavirus genomes in the MENA region, bridging research disparities and leading to better health outcomes.

Dr. Arthur Bos is currently collaborating with a university in the Philippines to conduct several marine research projects, but will be back at the AUC Biology Department in Fall 2022.

Salma Fahem (class of 2016), Manon Ragheb (class of 2016) and Rowan Abdelbary (class of 2017) all graduated with a bachelor degree in Biology from AUC The Biology department with a concentration in molecular and cell biology. They proceeded in the field of research receiving their MSc. deegres. Salma and Manon got their MSc. in molecular and cell biology from Heidelberg and Pierre et Marie Currie (Sorbonne), respectively, while Rowan got her MSc. in Biotechnology from AUC in 2020. Currently the three of them are working as Research Assistants and Assistant Lecturers at School of Medicine, NewGiza University. They are now working on different research projects. Salma is working on cardiac regeneration, while Rowan and Manon are working on Immunotherapy.
Good job ladies 👏🏻, keep going and making us proud 💪🏻👍🏻🙂.
