HPL Parent Workshop – Learning Together
It was wonderful to welcome parents to NCBIS for our latest High Performance Learning (HPL) Parent Workshop. As HPL continues to be embedded throughout our school culture, the session explored how the VAAs and ACPs can be applied across a range of real-life challenges and learning experiences.
The highlight of the event was the ultimate challenge: Parents vs Teachers vs Students! Through five rounds of problem-solving tasks and teamwork challenges, participants put their HPL skills to the test. In the end, our students emerged as champions, demonstrating outstanding collaboration, resilience, and high-performance thinking.
Congratulations to our winning students, and a heartfelt thank you to all the parents and teachers who participated and helped make the event such a success. Together, we continue to embody our NCBIS ethos of Bringing Out the Best in Everyone.

HPL in the Dutch Stream – ACP Linking & Generalisation
Our Dutch Stream students were excited to revisit the sunflowers they planted earlier in the year and were amazed by how much they had grown! One sunflower had become so tall that its flower reached into the olive tree. 🌳🌻
As they observed the plants, students discussed the differences in their growth and explored possible explanations. Why had some sunflowers grown taller than others? Could it be due to their location, the soil, accidental damage, or even differences between the seeds?
By making connections, considering different possibilities, and applying their prior knowledge, students demonstrated the ACPs of Linking and Generalisation. Most importantly, they celebrated the growth and development of every sunflower, appreciating that each one had flourished in its own unique way.

Year 1 Plant Explorers
In Year 1, our students have been learning about different plants, the parts of a plant, and why each part is important. Using their phonics knowledge and artistic skills, they carefully labelled a plant and wrote simple sentences explaining the role of each part.
It was wonderful to see their growing understanding of the natural world while developing their literacy and creativity skills.
A Showcase of Innovation, Creativity, and Future Thinking!
Our first-ever Robotics Fair was a tremendous success, bringing together creativity, problem-solving, and technology in an inspiring celebration of student achievement.
Parents were excited to explore the incredible projects on display as students confidently demonstrated their ideas, showcased their technical skills, and presented innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
As we reach the end of another successful academic year, the Robotics Fair highlights the successful integration of technology and innovation across both our Primary and Secondary Schools. Through robotics, artificial intelligence, coding, and design thinking, our students are developing the skills and mindset needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
We are immensely proud of every student who participated and brought their ideas to life. Their creativity, enthusiasm, and determination reflect our commitment to innovation and excellence, helping ensure that NCBIS remains a world-class school preparing the innovators and leaders of tomorrow.
