الإعلان السابع لبرنامج مبادرة التعليم العالي لمنح الدراسات العليا للمهنيين للعام الدراسي 2021/2022 Seventh Announcement of the Higher Education Initiative Program for Graduate Studies for Professionals for the Academic Year 2021/2022

A free online webinar series discussing predatory publishing practices and their impact. Each webinar will focus on a specific region.

This series of five free webinars - hosted by the InterAcademy Partnership (IAP) with the Global Young Academy (GYA), the Association of Academies and Societies of Sciences in Asia (AASSA), the European Academies’ Science Advisory Council (EASAC), the Inter-American Network of Academies of Science (IANAS), the Network of African Science Academies (NASAC), and The World Academy of Sciences (TWAS)- is designed to help researchers in their respective regions learn more about predatory academic practices and minimise their risk of using them.
Each webinar will bring together IAP Working Group members, who are leading IAP’s study on these practices (https://www.interacademies.org/project/predatorypublishing) and other scientists in the region, in different disciplines and career stages, to discuss learning from the study and hear regional perspectives on predatory journals and conferences. The webinars are as follows:
Europe (co-hosted by EASAC): 19 November
Africa (co-hosted by NASAC): 24 November
Americas (co-hosted by IANAS): 3 December
Asia (co-hosted by AASSA): 7 December
Global (co-hosted by TWAS): 14 December
Interested participants are welcome to register for multiple sessions though some of the material will be common to all of them. There will be opportunities to submit questions to the speakers and panelists.
All researchers, as well as those in other related sectors (such as research funders and publishers, and libraries and indexing services) are encouraged to participate.
Participants will receive a Zoom link to join ahead of the event.
