CFA Ambassadors – Ain Shams University team would like to extend its deepest gratitude to Prof. Hayam Wahba for her unwavering dedication and tireless efforts over the past 10 years in mentoring and supporting students participating in the CFA Research Challenge—at the internal, national, and regional levels, and founding CFA Ambassadors in ASU to ensure sustainability of her efforts.

Prof. Hayam Wahba ’s influence has been instrumental at every stage of this journey. She has helped unlock the potential within each of us, guiding hundreds of students to discover what they are truly capable of. Her impact is clearly reflected in the professional success of many of her mentees, who have gone on to build distinguished careers at top international institutions and multinational corporations across various finance sectors.

Thanks to her exceptional leadership, Ain Shams University has made its mark both nationally and internationally. It remains the only public university in Egypt to have won the CFA Research Challenge five times—four of which (2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023) were under Prof. Hayam’s direct supervision. Under her guidance, the university has proudly represented Egypt on international stages across Europe and the Middle East, reaching the EMEA semi-finals three times and earning third and fourth place in the MENA regional competition, further enhancing Ain Shams University's global standing.

None of these achievements would have been possible without Prof. Hayam’s steadfast commitment to transforming students’ lives, promoting excellence in finance education, nurturing the next generation of finance leaders, and creating meaningful opportunities for young talents.

We are thrilled to announce the outstanding achievement of Ain Shams University's team at the prestigious CFA Research Challenge held on February 15, 2025. Ain Shams University’s exceptional team members - Menna Sameh, Layla Samy, Mohamed Maher, Farah Alshafie, and Nadin Kamal - secured third place and earned the bronze medal among 22 universities.

Congratulations to them for their hard work and success. It is worth mentioning that the Faculty of Business at Ain Shams University has achieved first place in the CFA competition five times before among all Egyptian universities and represented Egypt in the international competition in Dubai, Dublin, and Zurich.

This accomplishment holds particular significance as Ain Shams University emerged as the sole public university to reach this level of distinction.
The team demonstrated remarkable proficiency in developing comprehensive financial models, crafting detailed reports, and delivering professional presentations throughout the competition.

This noteworthy success was made possible through the exemplary guidance of Professor Hayam Wahba, the Faculty advisor since 2015 whose dedicated mentorship proved instrumental throughout the university's participation in the CFA competition. We extend our sincere gratitude to Daniel Shaker, the industry mentor, who provided invaluable support from the competition's commencement. Special recognition is also due to Sarah Rabie, the dedicated volunteer, and the ASU CFA Ambassadors, whose collective efforts elevated this year's internal competition to unprecedented heights.

We look forward to building on this success in future endeavors and continuing to represent Ain Shams University with pride.

Our vision was born 8 years ago and today, it is coming to life as our family grows bigger each year.

Yesterday, ASU CFA Ambassadors’ family grew bigger with students reaping what they sowed in a one-month journey of hard work and perseverance.

During the journey, students collaborated together to work on valuing “Oriental Weavers” and presenting their investment recommendation to a panel of judges.

As our main objective is to provide a fulfilling intellectual experience to our students, ASU Ambassadors made sure to provide our potential candidates with academic sessions explaining the company’s business model, the role of an equity analyst, methods to analyze the company’s industry and business, in addition to topics on financial analysis and valuation techniques. Also, practical sessions on constructing a financial model from scratch were provided.

On the presentation day, students managed to impress as they have reflected days and nights of dedication.

Congratulations to our students as they have reached an important milestone in our journey. The transformation they have undergone makes us proud.

A round of applause goes to team 4 whom has managed to pull a close victory becoming the winners of our 2025 internal competition.
