The Opening Concert of the Prague Spring International Music Festival 2026 marks two anniversaries this year – 100 years since the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra was established and 80 years since the founding of the Prague Spring.
„Má vlast (My Country) is not about blind nationalism. It is written with genuine and entirely disarming love for our native land,” says Petr Popelka, Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, with whom he opens the 81st edition of the Prague Spring in 2026.
At this special moment we also mark one hundred years since the founding of this principal Czech symphony orchestra which, through its many bold artistic projects, is now etched not only into the history of the Prague Spring but also into the modern musical history of our country.
Petr Popelka, currently one of the world’s most highly sought-after conductors, will join Karel Ančerl, Václav Neumann, Claudio Abbado, Neeme Järvi, Vladimír Válek and Krzysztof Penderecki as another remarkable individual to lead this superb Czech orchestra at the Prague Spring.

يمثّل حفل الافتتاح لمهرجان ربيع براغ الدولي للموسيقى 2026 هذا العام مناسبتين بارزتين: مرور 100 عام على تأسيس أوركسترا براغ السيمفونية الإذاعية، و80 عامًا على تأسيس مهرجان ربيع براغ.
يقول بتر بوبلكا، القائد الرئيسي والمدير الفني لأوركسترا براغ السيمفونية الإذاعية، الذي يفتتح معها الدورة الحادية والثمانين من مهرجان ربيع براغ عام 2026:
«ما فْلاست / وطني ليست عملًا عن القومية العمياء. إنها مكتوبة بحب صادق ومؤثر لوطننا.»
في هذه المناسبة الخاصة، نحتفي أيضًا بمرور مئة عام على تأسيس هذه الأوركسترا السيمفونية التشيكية البارزة، التي أصبحت من خلال مشاريعها الفنية الجريئة جزءًا مهمًا من تاريخ ربيع براغ، وكذلك من التاريخ الموسيقي الحديث في التشيك.
ويُعد بتر بوبلكا، وهو اليوم من بين أكثر قادة الأوركسترا طلبًا على مستوى العالم، شخصية بارزة جديدة تنضم إلى أسماء كبيرة قادت هذه الأوركسترا التشيكية المتميزة في ربيع براغ، مثل Karel Ančerl وVáclav Neumann وClaudio Abbado وNeeme Järvi وVladimír Válek وKrzysztof Penderecki.
