📱 Planning to use a phone in Egypt? Here’s what you need to know! 🇪🇬

If you’re bringing a phone from abroad or buying one that’s imported, you may need to register it to use an Egyptian SIM card. This applies to:

✅ Egyptians returning from abroad (even with personal-use phones)
✅ Tourists or foreigners staying in Egypt for more than 90 days
✅ Anyone buying a non-registered phone in Egypt

📌 Good news! If your phone was activated with an Egyptian SIM before 1 January 2025, no need to register — the new system doesn’t apply retroactively.

Stay connected and avoid surprises! 🔄

🦟 Mosquitoes in Hurghada – What Tourists Need to Know & How to Protect Yourself! 🇪🇬☀️

While Hurghada is a stunning beach destination, mosquitoes can be a nuisance — especially in the evenings and around gardens or pool areas. If you’re planning a holiday here (or are already on one), a bit of preparation can save you and your family from a lot of discomfort!

Here’s how to stay bite-free in Hurghada:

✅ Bring a good mosquito repellent — choose one with DEET or picaridin for adults. Natural alternatives like citronella or lemon eucalyptus oil are also helpful, especially for light protection during the day.

🧴 For babies and toddlers (especially under 2), use baby-safe repellents (low-DEET or DEET-free) and always check age recommendations on the label.
👶 Additional tips for protecting little ones:
• Dress them in lightweight long sleeves and trousers in the evening
• Use a mosquito net over the cot or pushchair — ask your hotel if they can provide one
• Keep the air conditioning or a fan on at night — mosquitoes dislike cold and airflow
• Avoid scented lotions or soaps before bed

🏨 Tip: Ask your hotel if they spray the rooms or gardens regularly. You can also bring a plug-in mosquito repellent for extra protection indoors.

😢 If you or your child do get bitten:
• Use calming creams like aloe vera or antihistamine gel
• Keep the bites clean and avoid scratching
• If there’s swelling, fever, or signs of infection, seek medical help

🛫 A little preparation goes a long way! Don’t let mosquitoes ruin your well-earned holiday in Egypt. Stay protected, stay comfortable, and enjoy every moment 🌴☀️
