Comparison of Three Methods of Orthodontic Anchorage.

Anchorage loss:
Its significantly greater in the groups using TPA with a mean loss of
anchorage of 2.19 mm on right and 2.25 mm on left permanent maxillary first molar.
There was a significant difference in mesial movement of
permanent maxillary first molar found in TPA-Nance with 0.89 mm for right and 1.14 mm for left. On the other hand, the amount of anchorage loss in TPA-Nance was lesser compared to TPA.
The amount of mesial movement of permanent maxillary first molar on right and left was 0.33 mm and 0.11 mm respectively. This may be contributed by the mesial movement of the molar which was tied to the MI which was used as an indirect anchorage.

Time:
The mean treatment duration in TPA-Nance was lesser compared to TPA by two months. However, MI showed the shortest treatment duration compared to both TPA and TPA-Nance.

Cost:
The MI costs two times that of TPA and TPA-Nance. When compared to the amount of anchorage loss and the cost of the
appliance, TPA-Nance would be recommended for canine retraction instead of TPA.

Results:
De freitas et.al...concluded that Skeletal Class II subjects with hyperdivergent facial pattern showed significant narrow upper pharyngeal width when compared to normodivergent and hypodivergent facial patterns.
This means that the muscular pattern plays a role in the airway size which in turn affects the respiration

✅full ONLINE for those who can’t or prefer not to attend offline (takes 4 month),
✅mixed INTENSIVE (theoretical part online + practical offline intensive 8 days) course (takes 2,5 month),
✅mixed long course WITH PATIENT (takes 6-7 month)

👨🏻‍🏫All 3 groups will start together on 8th April and have the theoretical part of the course online during whole Ramadan.
After that each group will take their path - online will continue online, patient course will be once weekly and have 6 clinical patient visits, and the intensive will have their practical part in 10 successive days.
