In this Art therapy session, our main focus is relaxing the brain and releasing stress, giving ourselves a break from the hectic busy life. 🦋
Art therapy also helps you express yourself, boost your confidence, and increase your self-awareness. You don’t have to have any artistic experience for this workshop; it’s a relaxing joyful experience that I’m sure you haven’t experienced anywhere else.

Perihan Hodhod, an Egyptian contemporary artist, born 1987, living in Cairo, graduated from the faculty of fine arts major murals, a certified teacher from Ain Shams University, Certified Art Therapist, Art studio owner, and a former international baccalaureate visual arts teacher.
Her passion for art started when she was very young, she believed that expressive Arts can leave a huge impact on our lives, it can heal us, help us discover ourselves and understand it more, and simply grow on so many levels .
This is why I use the hidden meanings of colors, lines, and materials to deliver these beliefs whether through a painting or in my art therapy sessions.

This workshop is designed to be a one-day experience with the Arabic letters. The participants will have a simple yet an enjoyable and fun time through experimenting the richness of the Arabic script and its captivating magic. As well as a relaxing environment with music & food.

The main goal of the workshop is to give room for the participants to express their feelings & thoughts towards the letters. Different techniques will be used to help in reaching new perceptions and coming up with fresh conclusions.

Participants will explore how each letter can be shaped into various styles and how these styles can be applied on many products such as tote bags. By the end of this workshop, each participant is expected to own and create their tote bag.

Artist’s Bio:
Mariem Abutaleb is a graphic designer and lettering artist who is based in Cairo, Egypt. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the American University in Cairo (2020). Mariem focuses on Arabic lettering and type design in her work. Her main motivation is the experimentation of the Arabic script alongside creating lettering harmonious compositions out of it.
Mariem believes in the power of Arabic letters as a visual language in expressing and delivering messages. Her designs visualize songs, poems, thoughts, and daily diaries. Mariem also applies her designs on various mediums, one of which is fabrics.

Artist's Biography:
Born in 1986, Eslam Elrihany is an Egyptian artist and Academic Professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts, El Minia University, Egypt. With a major of painting, he completed his university degree of a Bachelor of Fine Arts, in 2008, followed by his Master degree in 2016, and finally his PHD in 2021
In 2016, he received a scholarship to study “Oil paintings Restoration, and Museum Display Techniques” in Hildesheim, Germany. Furthermore, he has been invited to attend Art Workshops in India and Turkey in 2019. He also contributed in a variety of Art fairs and exhibitions which include “Dubai International Art Exhibition”, “Egypt International Art Exhibition”, along to conclude with “The Body Music” which was his most recent Personal Art exhibition.
