Placing ูู
ุงู at the End
Sometimes, ูู
ุงู can be placed at the end of a sentence for emphasis.
Examples:
1. We will travel to Egypt in two more days.
โ ููููุณูุงููุฑู ู
ูุตูุฑู ููู
ูู ูู
ุงู.
2. I have three more weeks.
โ ููุฏููุงู
ูู ุชูููุชู ุงุณูุงุจููุนู ูู
ุงู.
3. We will go in five more hours.
โ ูููููุฌูู ุฎูู
ูุณู ุณูุงุนูุงุชู ูู
ุงู.
Key Difference:
Kaman + time โ standard structure.
Time + ูู
ุงู โ Emphasizes the duration.
Now you can use both forms!

Forming "More + Time Duration" Sentences
In Egyptian Arabic, we use ูู
ุงู (kaman) to express โmoreโ when talking about time. The structure is:
ูู
ุงู + (time duration)
Examples:
1. I will travel to Egypt in two more days.
โ ููุณูุงููุฑู ู
ูุตูุฑ ููู
ูุงูู ููู
ูู.
2. You have three more weeks.
โ ููุฏููุงู
ููู ููู
ูุงูู ุชูููุชู ุงุณูุงุจููุนู.
3. We will go out in four more hours.
โ ููููุฎูุฑูุฌู ููู
ูุงูู ุฃูุฑูุจูุนู ุณูุงุนูุงุชู.

Simply say ูู
ุงู, followed by the time duration.

โจ Sentence Construction Practice 2 - Invitation Sentences โจ
๐ Todayโs lesson: Constructing invitation sentences.
โ How do we invite someone to do something in the Egyptian dialect?
๐ Usually, we use ูููููุง, right?
๐ค But today, letโs learn a different way to make it sound more Egyptian! Hehe.
๐ Key Phrase:
The phrase structure we will use to invite someone is:
ู
ูุงุชููุฌูู + ุงููุนู ุงูู
ุถุงุฑุน ููู
ุชููู
ูู ุจุฏูู ุจุงุก.
---
๐ Letโs break down this phrase step-by-step:
๐ถโโ๏ธ Step 1: Start with ู
ูุงุชููุฌูู. Read it as: *ma tii gi*.
๐ก Literal Meaning: "How about you come."
๐ถโโ๏ธ Step 2: Add any fi'il mudhari' (present tense verb) for nahnu (Arabic: ูุญู - *we*). Form: ููุนู.
โ ๏ธ IMPORTANT: The present tense verb must NOT have a ุจู prefix at the start.
๐ง Remember this condition well!
---
๐ Example Time!
Letโs say we want to create a sentence to invite someone to go out. ๐
How do we say it?
1๏ธโฃ Start with ู
ูุงุชููุฌูู. (Scroll back up ๐ and check what it means)
2๏ธโฃ Find a present tense verb that means "go out" and change it to refer to ูุญู (*we*).
๐ช Whatโs โgo outโ in Arabic?
ุฎุฑุฌ.
๐ Present tense form referring to ูุญู (we)?
ููุฎูุฑูุฌู.
โจ Final Result:
ู
ูุงุชููุฌูู ููุฎูุฑูุฌูุ
(Say this with an intonation that sounds like a suggestion or question)
---
๐คฉ Easy, right? Just follow the steps and adhere to the condition.
๐ฃ How do we translate this?
There are two possible ways:
1. โHow about we go out?โ
2. โLetโs go out?โ
Both are correct and carry the same meaning! โ
---
โ Quick Question: Based on what weโve learned, ask yourself:
โ Can we say: ู
ูุงุชููุฌูู ุจูููุฎูุฑูุฌูุ
๐ก Answer: No, because the present tense verb here has ุจู at the beginning.
---

---------- ุฎูุฑ ---------
๐ธHave you noticed that when we enter any office, Egyptians will say the word "khair"?
Does it mean "good" or "Are you fine?" here?
No, actually Egyptians use the word ุฎูุฑ to mean "Yes?" in the context of a question.
๐ธHow is that?
For example, at the pharmacy, the pharmacist will say ุฎูุฑ, which means "Yes, how can I help you?"
Another example: if someone suddenly comes to your home and knocks on the door harshly, in this situation, you would just say to him in a high tone, "ุฎูุฑ", meaning "What!".
Here lies the power of Arabic.
We can say this whole sentence with just one word, and Arabs will understand. All we need to say is ุฎูุฑ.
(The important thing is to raise your tone, as if you're asking a question.)
Or if you want to make it longer, you can say:
"ุฎูุฑ, ูู ุญุงุฌุฉ"
("Yeah, what's up?")
๐ธIn conclusion, khair in certain situations does not translate to "good" or "fine". There are also situations (like in the current context) where it translates as "Yes?" or "What?".
