Technically National Pizza Day is on Monday 2/9 but we’ll be at the Capital with FCCLA so pizza day had to come early this year! This is always one of our favorite labs as associates get the opportunity to take their pizza recipe through the Flow of Food! From menu planning to costing to prepping to baking and finally serving, they have experienced it all!

What a beautiful fall day for the 2025 Change the World Day hosted by Covington FUMC!!! Along with NCCA FCCLA, we served all kinds of delicious sweet treats and volunteered at the Giving Hands Food Pantry. 😊 Newton College & Career Academy has some of the most amazing student servant leaders! They make us proud every day!

Today was a great day to have a great day! NCCA Culinary Arts associates had the opportunity to visit a working apple farm in Ellijay, Ga. We had the opportunity to learn about apple production, pick fresh apples, taste different varieties, and so much more! Associates will now develop original recipes using the knowledge gained about flavor profiles, textures, and best uses of different types of apples.

If you’re ever in Ellijay and want to support a family owned business with delicious apples, treats, and excellent customer service, go see our friends at Aaron Family Orchards! Joshua and his family have owned the orchard for over 80 years and we are grateful they took the time today to host our associates!

We’ve been BUSY! Jumped right in after spring break with 3 caterings, 29 full-size Bundt cakes, 104 mini Bundt cakes, and an amazing collaboration with Andrew Pollard on our egg unit!

Fun fact: the strawberry cakes and icing were made with a strawberry coulis by our Baking & Pastry 1 associates. They used strawberries from Newton College & Career Academy FFA’s fundraiser and THE GOAT Cecily Gunter, along with honey from the NCCA bee hives provided by the one & only Marcus Pollard.

It takes a village and we are blessed to have such an amazing support system at NCCA. We had to divide and conquer this week and it wouldn’t be possible without Chef Quinlan! Thank you!

We didn’t get many pics so we’d love to see your cakes! These associates keep rising to the higher bars keep setting and they make us exceptionally proud every day!

Happy Easter and happy desserting!
