The Centre for Christian-Muslim Understanding and Partnership, in cooperation with the Egyptian Family House and the International Public Schools Unit at the Ministry of Education, organized the third trip as part of the “Peace Journeys” initiative. A group of students from the International Public School (IPS) in Rod El Farag visited sites of religious and historical significance, with the aim of raising their awareness of Egypt’s rich religious and cultural diversity and promoting mutual understanding and respect among the children.
The trip brought together 26 Muslim and Christian primary school students, who visited Al-Thawra Mosque and St. Cyril’s Church in Heliopolis. During the visits, the students learned about different places of worship and their significance. They also visited the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, further strengthening their sense of belonging and their shared Egyptian identity.
At the end of the trip, the children creatively expressed what they had learned through writing, poetry, and drawing, bringing their ideas together into a collaborative artwork that reflected the shared values they had gained throughout the day.
نظم المركز المسيحي الإسلامي للتفاهم والشراكة بالتعاون مع بيت العائلة المصرية ووحدة المدارس الحكومية الدولية بوزارة التربية والتعليم الرحلة الثالثة من مشروع "رحلات السلام"، حيث قام مجموعة من أطفال المدرسة الرسمية الدولية بروض الفرج بزيارة أماكن ذات أهمية دينية وتاريخية، لتوعيتهم بالتنوع الديني والثقافي الغني في مصر وتعزيز التفاهم والاحترام المتبادل بين الأطفال، وذلك يوم الأربعاء الثاني من شهر سبتمبر الجاري.
تضمنت الرحلة زيارة ٢٦ طالب من المسلمين والمسيحيين من المرحلة الإبتدائية لمسجد الثورة وكنيسة القديس كيرلس بمصر الجديدة، حيث تعرفوا على دور العبادة المختلفة وأهميتها، كما قاموا بزيارة المتحف القومي للحضارة المصرية لتعزيز الشعور بالانتماء والهوية المصرية المشتركة.
في نهاية الرحلة، عبر الأطفال عما تعلموا في صورة إبداعية عن طريق الكتابة والشعر والرسم وتجميع أفكارهم في عمل فني واحد يعبر عن القيم المشتركة التي اكتسبوها خلال اليوم.
