🧠✨ A Successful Start to “THINK DIFFERENT… COMPUTE SMARTER” Webinar Series

On 2 September 2026, the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Egypt Chapter, hosted the first session of its webinar series:

“Fuzzy Systems and the Way Towards True Explainable AI for Real-World Applications”

The session was delivered by Prof. Hani Hagras, Professor at the University of Essex and recipient of the 2026 IEEE Fuzzy Systems Pioneer Award.

Prof. Hagras explored the challenges posed by black-box AI models, the limitations of conventional explainability methods such as SHAP and LIME, and the role of fuzzy systems in developing transparent, human-understandable AI by design. He also presented valuable real-world applications demonstrating the growing importance of explainable AI in areas such as healthcare and decision-making.

The webinar concluded with an engaging discussion and valuable questions from participants.

Sincere thanks to Prof. Hani Hagras for sharing his outstanding knowledge and experience, and to everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the session. Special appreciation goes to the organizing team and our community partners for their valuable efforts and support.

Stay tuned for the upcoming sessions! 🚀

Our first webinar is here 🎙️

We’re very happy to officially kick off the THINK DIFFERENT__COMPUTE SMARTER - Webinar Series with a topic that sits at the heart of one of the biggest questions in AI today:

Can AI become not only intelligent, but truly explainable?🤔

For our first session, we are honored to welcome:

Prof. Hani Hagras
Professor of Artificial Intelligence - University of Essex
The Founder of IEEE Computational Intelligence Society — Egypt Chapter
Recipient of the IEEE Fuzzy Systems Pioneer Award 2026 🏆

He will be speaking about:

Fuzzy Systems and the Way Towards True Explainable Artificial Intelligence for Real-World Applications

❣️⚠️Official Certificate of Attendance will be provided to Attendees ❣️⚠️

A conversation about Fuzzy Systems and how we can move from AI systems that simply give us answers to systems that can help us understand why those answers were made.

2nd September 2026 📅
4:00 PM Cairo Time 🕓
