A Pill That Could Replace Implants? Japan Just Took the First Step Toward Natural Tooth Regrowth
What once sounded like sci-fi is now in clinical trials and the future of dentistry may never be the same.

Japanese scientists have officially launched human trials for a breakthrough drug designed to regrow human teeth. The medication targets a specific protein that prevents tooth formation after childhood. By switching it off, researchers have successfully reactivated the body’s dormant ability to grow new teeth in animal models within just weeks. Now, adult participants missing at least one molar are receiving the drug at Kyoto University Hospital to test its safety and effectiveness.

If the trials go well, this could lead to natural tooth regeneration replacing dentures and implants entirely. Future phases may even help children born without certain teeth, offering hope for a lifelong fix. For millions affected by tooth loss, this isn’t just about smiles it’s about restoring function, confidence, and quality of life through science that taps into our own biology.

Our workshop on Drug Formulation Development and Computational Chemistry Research successfully brought together 26 students from the Faculties of Pharmacy and Science at Assiut University and Badr University in Assiut (BUA)!

🔹 Engaging Sessions: Lectures & hands-on lab training at the Institute of Drug Development and Innovation Research and computational labs at the Faculty of Science, Assiut University.
🔹 Expert-Led Training: Conducted by project 48300 team (STDF Basic Sciences call).

أعلى دقة على الإطلاق لتصوير الأجنة البشرية



نجح العلماء في إزاحة الستار عن الأيام الأولى من عمر الجنين البشري، بوضوح لم يُر مثله من قبل. تعتمد تقنية التصوير التي استعان بها العلماء على أداتين متوفرتين بكثرة في المختبرات؛ ألا وهما: الصبغات الفلورية القابلة للتوهج، ومجاهر المسح بالليزر. يوضح عالِم الأحياء الخلوية، نيكولاس بلاختا: "نستطيع أن نرى الخلايا المفردة وهي تتفاعل بعضها مع بعض وتكوّن أجنة ما قبل الزرع". وبلاختا هو عضو الفريق الذي صور عشرات الأجنة الأحياء أثناء أول 40 ساعة من عملية التكوين. ولعل هذا النوع من التصوير الخارجي غير الاختراقي يتيح يومًا ما تصوير الأجنة التي تُخصب في الأنابيب.

FDA Approves First F***l Microbiota Product

U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved Vowst, the first f***l microbiota product that is taken orally.

Vowst is approved for the prevention of recurrence of Clostridioides difficile (C. difficile) infection (CDI) in individuals 18 years of age and older, following antibacterial treatment for recurrent CDI.

هيئة الغذاء والدواء الأمريكية تعتمد أول دواء فموي مستخلص من بكتريا البراز البشري، "‌‌فاوست".

فاوست علاج معتمد للوقاية من تكرار أمراض معينة من أمراض الجهاز الهضمي لمن هم في سن ١٨ عاماً وأكبر.
