An interesting event hosted by SUEL in Farsi Auditorium

R is a programming language that gained popularity in data science, academic research, and statistics. It is a powerful tool for manipulating, visualizing, and analyzing different types of data. Coding in R ensures data tracking which allows reproducing, and revisiting the results with the benefits of mixing the power of multiple software such as Excel and ArcMap.
This workshop will focus on working with vector data in R. Participants will first be introduced to the fundamentals of coding in R and become acquainted with RStudio, the integrated development environment designed for R. We will then explore different packages and libraries that allow data handling and visualizing. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to produce graphs and maps that help present their data and communicate their ideas.
Participants with knowledge and proficiency in GIS will be given priority.
Participants must come equipped with their own laptops installed with R and RStudio. Please download and install the latest version for both from this website (https://posit.co/download/rstudio-desktop/)
While participants will receive the code to download some packages beforehand, having an internet connection is strongly recommended. It will enable troubleshooting and facilitate the process of pulling data from the web during the workshop.
As seats are limited, please do not register unless you are certain of your availability. You will receive a confirmation email with further instructions before the workshop.
If you do not receive a confirmation email, please do not show up unexpectedly to the workshop, as we are not able to accommodate a larger number than the confirmed registrants.

This workshop will be conducted by Hisham Negm, a Teaching Assistant at Alexandria University and a Ph.D. student at McGill University.

لقد بدأت جامعة الاسكندرية ممثلة فى معهد الدراسات العليا والبحوث بالاشتراك مع جامعة ميلانو من العام الماضى برنامجا مشتركا للابتكار وريادة الأعمال الخضراء. ويمكن البرنامج عدد من الطلبة من الالتحاق بجامعة ميلانو لاستكمال الدراسة والحصول على ماجستير بدرجة ثنائية من الجامعتين.
وقد التحق بالبرنامج فى العام الماضى عدد من الطلبة منهم 7 من خريجى الأقسام المعمارية بكلية الهندسة و كلية الفنون الجميلة والأكاديمية العربية و بحم الله حصل 5 منهم على منح دراسية لاستكمال دراستهم للعام القادم بميلانو للحصول على الدرجة الثنائية بينما سيستكمل باقى الطلبة دراستهم بالمعهد ليحصلوا على ماجستير الابتكار وريادة الأعمال الخضراء - المدن المستدامة.
