An amazing day at the ITI Middle East Section Educational Day in Cairo, full of learning, networking, and staying up to date with the latest in implant dentistry.

It was a true pleasure learning from Prof. German Gallucci alongside an outstanding lineup of professors and speakers who delivered highly valuable and insightful sessions throughout the day.

Every lecture reflected how continuously evolving our field is.The interactive Q&A sessions at the end added even more value and created engaging discussions.

Case presentation:
Patient presented with multiple remaining roots and compromised dentition, indicating the need for extraction and implant-supported rehabilitation with an emphasis on preserving soft and hard tissue architecture.

Treatment approach was driven by biological and prosthetic principles rather than a purely surgical perspective.

Following atraumatic extractions, immediate implant placement was performed freehand in selected sites, aiming to preserve the existing socket morphology. A socket seal technique was utilized to maintain soft tissue contour and minimize post-extraction collapse.

Key considerations:

– Implants were not splinted to natural teeth, respecting the difference in mobility between periodontal ligament–supported teeth and osseointegrated implants.

– Interproximal distances were carefully maintained: ≥1.5 mm from natural teeth and ≥3 mm between implants to preserve vascular supply to the interseptal bone and support papilla stability.

– Implant depth and 3D positioning were prosthetically driven to allow a natural emergence profile that mimics adjacent dentition.

– Customized healing abutments were used to guide soft tissue healing and sculpt peri-implant contours from an early stage.

Outcome rationale:

The final result is not accidental, it is the product of controlled surgical ex*****on combined with prosthetic planning that respects biology.

Maintaining vascularity, preserving tissue contours, and guiding soft tissue healing are what ultimately translate into natural, harmonious restorations.
