On the International Day for Women and Girls in Science, the Embassy is celebrating some of the inspiring Egyptians we’ve met through the Chevening programme. Eshraq, a Chevening alumna, is currently studying her PhD in Infection Biology / Dynamics of host-pathogen interactions at Hannover Medical School.
We asked Eshraq to say something to young girls and women:
"I want to say to any young girl who wants to pursue a career in STEM - don't let anyone rob you of your passion. And most importantly, don't let self-doubt stand between you and your dreams. Science is hard for everyone, yet it's so rewarding."
And Eshraq has a female role model too: Peggy Whitson, the American biochemistry researcher and retired NASA astronaut! Who’s your role model? Share your story with us!
