The purpose of the Workshop is to expose potential candidates, whether Egyptian law students or lawyers to an opportunity to pursue an LL.M degree at China’s top University for Law. The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition ‘Jessup’ is the largest moot court competition in the World. The International Law Students Association ‘ILSA’ is the international body organizing the Jessup.

The Jessup tackles issues of public international law that would come before the International Court of Justice ‘ICJ’. The International Rounds take place in Washington D.C. during March/April of each year. More than 600 schools from all over the World participate in Jessup and the Championship Round is judged by 3 sitting ICJ judges.

The Jessup problem is drafted and inspired by current legal events such as; the use of force in international relations, humanitarian law, environmental law, cultural and heritage artifacts, laws of the seas, international arbitration or a combination of more than one issue.

This year's topics include multi-fora international litigation, the accountability of heads of State for war crimes, killer robots, and a wall.

The team that wins the National Rounds in Egypt shall represent Egypt in the International Rounds at the United States and shall get a funding to travel and compete internationally.

After Jessup has awarded Mr. Adam El Shalakany with the Steven Schneebaum Award for Outstanding National Administrator, it pleases Shalakany to be organizing and administering this year’s National Rounds in Egypt.

This competition is open to Law students and Political Science Students.

We are recruiting for AUMC Internal Moot!!!

AUMC Internal Moot is organized by AUMC to prepare students for participating in regional and international moot court competitions.

The application is open for students from all departments (Arabic, English and French).

No specific qualifications required but fluency in the English language both written and spoken.

Legal experience is not required but would be an asset.

A successful practicing session between Alexandria University and Cairo University in preparation for the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot hosted by Helmy, Hamza & Partners - Baker McKenzie, it was an invaluable opportunity for the team to plead in front of Mr. Yehia Shahine, Dispute Resolution Senior Associate at the firm; Salma Nasreldine, Dispute Resolution Associate at the firm; and Malak Lotfi, Case Manager & Legal Researcher at The Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA).

The 3rd AIAC-ICC Willem C. Vis Pre-Moot, held at Bangunan Sulaiman, Malaysia, the head quarters of Asian International Arbitration Centre - AIAC. The largest VIs Pre-Moot wit 97 team participating and more than 300 mooters.
