What is the difference between "Must" and "Have to" in expressing necessity?

Check the examples below to find out:

a)- I'm looking for Sue. I have to talk to her about our lunch date tomorrow.

b)- Where's Sue? I must talk to her right away. I have an urgent message for her.

Explanation:
In everyday statements of necessity, have to is used more commonly than must. Must is stronger than have to and can indicate urgency or stress importance.

🔎The meaning in (a): I need to do this.

🔎The meaning in (b): is stronger: This is very important!

Because "must" is a strong word, it is rare in conversation. It is found in legal or academic writing.
