Student Spotlight:
Mohannad Hamdy, a notable member of our vocal lessons program under the guidance of Professor , has made impressive strides in the world of opera.
During his time as a student, Mohannad delivered powerful performances, portraying "Zuniga" in Opera Carmen and the "Commendatore" in Don Giovanni, showcasing his stage presence and vocal depth. He was also the bass singer in G. Rossini's "Petite Messe Solennelle".
We take great pride in Mohannad's accomplishments and are honored to have played a part in his success.

Allow us to shine a light on the incredible journey of Malak Shafei, a former standout in our vocal lessons under the guidance of . Malak's exceptional talent and dedication during her time with us paved the way for her to achieve remarkable milestones in the world of opera.
While studying with us, Malak amazed The Bibliotheca Alexandrina audiences by playing "Zerlina" in the famous opera Mozart's Don Giovanni, she also sang "Ave Maria" by Caccini at the "Mixat" concert, and she took the role of the soprano soloist in G. Rossini's "Petite Messe Solennelle".
We take pride in Malak's accomplishments and are honored to have played a part in nurturing her talent. Her achievements stand as a testament to the quality of instruction and support provided by our faculty, particularly under the mentorship of Donia Akram. We look forward to Malak's ongoing success as she continues to shine in opera and classical music with her exceptional voice and talent.

Donia Akram Deghedy | Vocal Instructor
* LEARNING AND SINGING
Donia learned to play piano at Alexandria Conservatoire. Her furthered her studies by taking up to Grade 8 in piano and music theory through the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music in London (ABRSM) and Trinity Guildhall with Mr. Mina N. Hanna. Donia took various masterclasses with Austrian Piano Professor Johanna Horny-Neumann at the University of Vienna, and she acquired her licentiate degree in classical singing from Trinity College London
* PERFORMANCE
Donia made her debut in operatic roles such as “Lucy” in Menotti’s The Telephone, "Mme Silberklang" in Mozart's Der Schauspieldirektor, “Donna Anna” in Mozart’s Don Giovanni in the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, and "Michaela" in Carmen in the Institut Français d’Égypte à Alexandrie. She has performed a diverse repertoire of Arias and art songs across steemed venues like the Cairo Opera House, the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Jesuit Cultural Center, the French Consulate, and the Institut Français d’Égypte.
* CONDUCTING AND CHORAL LEADERSHIP
Her conducting journey began in 2015, attending online courses, and later in 2016, she participated in Cairo Symphony's annual conducting masterclass led by Ahmed el Saeidi, in addition to summer courses, such as Sherborne Summer School of Music in the United Kingdom in both orchestral and choral conducting. Donia showcased her conducting skills with orchestras like Sherborne Music School Orchestra and the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, conducting renowned symphonies and choral work. Notably, she trained and led the Bibliotheca Alexandrina Choir in performing Operas and masterpieces since 2018. Donia has also been training the Cairo Symphony Children's Choir since 2022.
* TEACHING
Donia has been teaching singers to become better classical singers since 2021, and she has notable case studies showcasing students who have made it to well-known roles.
