The Story of the Land of Turquoise: Sinai 🇪🇬✨
If you’re spending time with us in Egypt, you’ll notice today feels a bit more festive than usual! That’s because April 25th is one of our most meaningful national milestones: Sinai Liberation Day.
For those who haven't made it there yet, Sinai—often called the Land of Turquoise—is a stunning peninsula that bridges Africa and Asia. It is famous worldwide for its golden mountains, world-class diving in the Red Sea, and deep spiritual history.
Why are we celebrating?
This day commemorates the moment in 1982 when the Egyptian flag was finally raised across the entire peninsula, marking the full return of the land to Egyptian hands. For us, it’s a story of incredible perseverance. It took years of both military bravery and sophisticated diplomatic patience to ensure that every inch of that beautiful desert and coastline was restored to the homeland.
What it means today:
A Symbol of Peace: It marks the transition from a history of conflict to a future of development and tourism.
National Pride: It’s a day to honor the determination it takes to protect one’s territory and heritage.
Holiday Vibes: You'll see flags everywhere, hear patriotic music, and feel a strong sense of community unity.
Whether you're planning a hike up Mount Sinai or a relaxing stay in Dahab or Sharm El-Sheikh, today is the reason that land is open, peaceful, and welcoming to the world.
Happy Sinai Liberation Day! 🕊️⛰️

From blank canvases… to unforgettable memories 🎨✨
Our BlaBla painting event was more than just colors and brushes — it was smiles, laughter, and moments that brought everyone together 🤍

Seeing everyone proud of their pieces, holding them up with big smiles… that’s exactly what BlaBla is all about.
Same place, same people, different memories every time 🫶

Eid Iftar Mubarak vibes 🌙✨
If you’re new here, let us introduce you to one of the most wholesome (and slightly chaotic 😅) traditions you’ll ever experience:
Step 1: We say “we’ll just eat light today”…
Step 2: The table somehow turns into a full feast 🍗🥙🍰
Step 3: Everyone waits dramatically for the call to prayer like it’s the season finale of a show ⏳
Step 4: First sip of water = pure happiness 💧
And then comes Eid… where things level up 😌
We eat kahk (a type of cookies)… and by “eat,” we mean A LOT of it 🍪😂
Like… morning, afternoon, after every visit, with tea, without tea — there is always kahk.
Eid iftar isn’t just about food (okay… maybe a little bit 👀), it’s about:
✨ Gathering with family & friends
✨ Visiting everyone you know (and people you barely know 😅)
✨ Sharing meals with love
✨ Laughing over the smallest things
✨ And always insisting “you HAVE to eat more!”
This is what Eid feels like in many cultures — warm nights, full tables, endless sweets, laughter, and that feeling of being part of a big family 💛
So if it’s your first time experiencing it, come curious… and leave with a full heart (and probably a food coma 😄)
Eid Mubarak 🌙✨
What’s the one thing you always eat or do during Eid? 👀
