ZC-OCW is a project made by Zewail City students to spread high quality scientific material to Egypt and the world.

Today, we are proud to announce a great milestone in the ZC-OCW journey.

The wait is finally over, and our website is now open for every student, everywhere.

This milestone was once just a dream, and today, we are watching it come true. We see this website as our own way of documenting all the great work that ZC-OCW students and alumni have done throughout the years, of thanking and acknowledging every one of them for contributing to what ZC-OCW has become today, and, above all, of carrying our mission a little further by making the open-learning journey easier, friendlier, and more accessible to our learners.

We would also like to ask you to take just two minutes today to visit our Acknowledgements tab and meet the students who helped make this dream possible. Having their names there is the very least they deserve, and one small way for us to recognize the time, effort, ideas, and passion they gave to this project over the years.

And, of course, we would love to hear from you. Your feedback, ideas, and suggestions are always welcome. If you encounter any issue while using the website, you can also share it with us through our Report a Bug tab. We would genuinely love to listen, learn from you, and continue making the experience better.

And above all, to everyone reading this—to every student, learner, follower, and supporter who has been part of our journey: without your support, we would never have made it this far.

بعد وقت طويل من الشغل والتحضير، موقعنا بقى متاح دلوقتي لكل طالب ولكل شخص بيحب يتعلم، من أي مكان.

بالنسبة لنا، الموقع ده مش مجرد مكان نجمع فيه المحتوى، لكنه مساحة نوثق فيها رحلة بدأت من سنين بفكرة صغيرة بين مجموعة من الطلبة، وكبرت مع كل شخص آمن بيها وقرر يديها من وقته ومجهوده وأفكاره.

ومن أكتر الحاجات اللي كان مهم تكون موجودة من أول يوم هي صفحة Acknowledgements، علشان نوثق أسماء وصور الطلبة والخريجين اللي ساهموا في بناء ZC-OCW على مدار السنين. هنكون سعداء جدًا لو أخدتوا دقيقتين تزوروها، لأن وجود أسمائهم هناك هو أقل حق نقدر نقدمه ليهم.

وطبعًا مستنيين نسمع رأيكم، وأي ملاحظات أو اقتراحات تساعدنا نحسن الموقع أكتر. ولو قابلتكم أي مشكلة، تقدروا تبعتوهالنا من خلال Report a Bug.

فرحتنا بالخطوة دي كبيرة جدًا، لأنها علامة جديدة على إن الفكرة الصغيرة اللي بدأت بطلبة ولسه بيبنيها طلبة، بتكبر كل يوم شوية.

Today is a special day because today is Pi Day!

Let’s keep the celebration going to infinity and beyond, so prepare your pie and let's make this celebration irrationally unforgettable! :)

Who said numbers can’t have a little π-sonality? Pi is like that rebellious rockstar of mathematics; it basically doesn’t follow the rules, and it is like that irrational friend who pops up when you least expect it, but you are always happy to see it. Pi tried to be simplified once, but it turned out not to be that kind of number, because it has layers, delicious, infinite, and irrationally beautiful. While most numbers settle down, Pi keeps on going… and going… and going… But Pi is not just a number (neither just a greek letter), it is an insπration for curiosity, innovation, and a better understanding of the world around us.

While Pi is famous for being in geometry, its irrational beauty shows up everywhere, from the spirals of galaxies, flowers, and hurricanes to even the code behind your favorite encryption algorithm. Whether you are into calculating the behavior of sound or light waves, describing the twists of the DNA structure, or modelling the unpredictable nature of quantum mechanics, Pi is there, ruling every aspect of science and life. Even when it comes to the precision of our designs, from developing the tiniest circuits to building the devices reaching the farthest parts of space, Pi helps us shape our world.

Well, Pi makes each of our fields a little more curved, a bit more connected, and a lot more unexpected. Isn’t that beautiful?

Let’s keep counting on Pi’s digits to remind us how curiosity could have no end, and neither does our learning journey. Here’s to celebrating both Pi and the never-ending possibilities ahead of us!

اللهم اجعل هذا الشهر بدايةَ نورٍ و خيرٍ لنا ولأهلنا ولمدينة زويل العزيزة، ووفّقنا دائمًا أن نكون سببَ خيرٍ وأثرٍ حقيقي في حياة غيرنا.

النهاردة يوم ١٤ مارس!

بنحتفل معاكم بال pi day وبرجوعنا من جديد بعد غياب طويل.
بيرجع تسمية pi day لأن التاريخ ١٤/٣ هو نفس كتابة الرقم ٣.١٤ ,و هو الرقم اللى بيساوى رمز الـ π واللي يعد من أحد أهم ثوابت علم الرياضيات!

أهمية تسمية اليوم بترجع لإبراز أهمية الرياضيات في حياتنا و التطبيقات اللى بنشوفها كل دقيقة بسبب اجتهاد العلماء إنهم يوصلوا لمعادلات و ثوابت نقدر نطبق عليها حاجات كتير في عالمنا.

استنونا الفترة الجاية نرجع لكم بكورساتنا و نقول لكم ازاى تقدروا تتعلموا من البيت بشكل صحيح!
