Community Engagement-Zewail City

VST (Valley of science and technology) was founded by Dr. Zewail to lead the future of Zewail City and revolutionize the connection between Academia and industry. Valley of Science and Technology in Zewail City (VST) was founded by Dr. Zewail (peace be upon him) to lead the future of Zewail City and revolutionize the connection between Academia and industry. The aforementioned units are summarized as follows:

1-Community Engagement Unit
The Community Engagement Unit is the interface of Zewail City with the community to provide courses of the highest quality in different areas for children, students, graduates, and professionals. Such courses enrich your Knowledge and provide an accredited certificate in certain areas that would boost your career.

2-Industry Engagement Unit
Collaboration with the outstanding science and technology representatives opens a new window of innovation to firm companies to be able to put together innovative products. This fastens the pace of development and polishes the quality of the products. Zewail City strongly believes that the intensity and quality of bridging between Academia and Industry highly boost the productivity of the innovative system.

3-Product Support and Incubation
Is a university-based incubator in Egypt focused solely on science and technology-based ventures. It allows the startups to use the outstanding facilities of Zewail City and the wide network of its members and alumni. The mission of the Product Support and Incubation Unit is to offer mentorship and training to enhance the participating startups’ business and technology. In the incubation unit and pre-incubation programs, participating startups attend workshops and training conducted by experts on specialized fields needed for their development.

4-Technology Transfer Unit (Commercialization)
The Technology Transfer unit is mainly in charge of bridging the gap between the conducted scientific research at Zewail City and the Egyptian as well as the International market needs. In other words, the main focus is to reorient the research output to fulfill the community, industry, and market demands. Currently, the Technology Transfer Office (TTO), sub-unit from the TICO project and its functions are integrated into the Tech Transfer unit.

5-Intellectual Property Management Unit
The Intellectual Property Management Unit oversees protecting and maintaining Zewail City’s IP assets. In addition, the unit is focusing on spreading IP awareness across the City. Currently, the Technology Innovation Support (TISC) office and its function are integrated into the IP management unit.
