🚗 Dissemination event for the Erasmus+ KA2 project "Good Better Best Car Mechanic"

On 18 September, Tartu Vocational College hosted a dissemination event for the Good Better Best Car Mechanic project.

The event brought together automotive teachers, field leaders, internship coordinators, as well as representatives of companies and partner organisations from across Estonia, creating a valuable platform for sharing experience and discussing the future development of automotive vocational education.

During the event, we presented the Good Better Best Car Mechanic project, its activities and key outcomes, and discussed how the project results can support teaching, practical training and stronger cooperation between vocational schools and the automotive sector.

The event also provided an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas, strengthen professional networks and share good practices between education and industry representatives.

The Good Better Best Car Mechanic project has been funded by the European Union , supporting international cooperation and the development of high-quality automotive vocational education.

A big thank you to everyone who took part, contributed to the discussions and helped make the dissemination event a valuable meeting point for the Estonian automotive education community.

Strengthening international cooperation and connecting vocational education with the future of industry

Last week, Tartu Vocational College (VOCO) participated in two international events—CoVE Forum 2026 in Grazand Automechanika Frankfurt 2026—to share our project work, exchange experiences and strengthen cooperation with education and industry partners across Europe.

At the CoVE Forum in Graz, together with our partners, we presented AutoCoVE 2.0 and H2CoVE, two Centres of Vocational Excellence projects through which VOCO contributes to the development of vocational education and international collaboration.

The forum provided a valuable opportunity to connect with other vocational excellence networks and discuss how schools, businesses and regional partners can work together to respond to changing skills needs. For VOCO, these exchanges are an important part of developing education that connects strong practical training with emerging technologies and the expectations of employers.

Our participation also highlighted the importance of learning from one another. Sharing approaches to teaching, curriculum development and cooperation with industry helps vocational institutions identify solutions that can be adapted to their own learning environments.

In the second half of the week, VOCO was represented at Automechanika Frankfurt 2026, where we presented AutoCoVE 2.0 project, met with existing partners and established new contacts with education and industry representatives.

The event offered opportunities to explore developments in the automotive sector and consider their implications for vocational education. As vehicle technologies and repair practices evolve, close cooperation with industry helps schools understand which skills are becoming increasingly important and how to reflect these changes in practical learning.

Across both events, one message stood out: preparing learners for the future requires ongoing cooperation between vocational education and the world of work. International partnerships create opportunities to exchange expertise, support teachers’ professional development and bring new ideas into classrooms and workshops.

At VOCO, we see this cooperation as a long-term investment in the quality and relevance of vocational education. The conversations and connections made in Graz and Frankfurt provide a valuable basis for continuing our joint work and exploring further opportunities with our partners.

PUMP-UP last partner meeting held! This time we had a moment to reflect on what we have achieved together to support the heat pump skills across Europe. 🔧♻️

✨Most importantly there is a free online course (MOOC) together with a multilingual Virtual Assistant app available for everyone.
🎓 And we created an examination scheme to obtain an European qualification certificate for HVAC technicians!

Tartu VOCO was honored to join the celebration at the U.S. Ambassador’s residence in Tallinn, together with hundreds of Estonian friends and partners.🇺🇸🇪🇪

This special occasion also celebrated the growing partnership between Estonian and U.S. vocational education. Alongside our colleagues from Pärnu, Kuressaare, Järvamaa, and Võru vocational schools, we are proud to be building new bridges with American colleges.

This has been a remarkable academic year for Tartu VOCO, as we launched cooperation with Edmonds College in Seattle and Northampton Community College in Bethlehem. We are grateful for the opportunity to strengthen these international partnerships and look forward to what comes next.

A heartfelt thank you to the U.S. Embassy Tallinn for your support, trust, and outstanding collaboration. Here’s to lasting friendship, successful educational partnerships, and many more years of cooperation.

VOCO Head of Projects, Andrei Atškasov, recently visited the VET schools BS28 and ITECH in Hamburg. A big thank you to Stefanie and Karolina from BS28 Berufliche Schule City Nord and Gunnar from Berufliche Schule ITECH Elbinsel, for the warm welcome and the very informative overview of the German VET education system and the diverse educational programmes offered by your schools.

It was especially valuable to learn more about the Erasmus+ projects, including CoVE initiatives and various international partnership opportunities and cooperation 🌍📚✨

VOCO has never been more international! The 2025/2026 school year has officially broken all previous records for international exchanges!
Here is a quick look at our great year in numbers:
🛫 218 students traveled abroad for practices, group learning, and skills competitions.
✨ 113 teachers and staff went on job-shadowing and training trips to bring cutting-edge knowledge back home.
🛬 188 international students and 103 foreign educators were welcomed at VOCO!
This amazing milestone was reached thanks to our active Erasmus+ KA1 accreditation.
But we have offered also 6 specialized vocational courses, group-mobilities and job shadowing experiences as well as apprenticeship programmes in our companies.

A massive THANK YOU to our dedicated coordinators, staff, and partners who made this possible. Let’s keep connecting worlds! 💙
