Digital Learning Games

Digital Learning Games (DLG) is an international Master's programme at Tallinn University that combines game design and education.

Tallinn University is a public research university in Tallinn, Estonia. The MSc programme in Digital Learning Games in hosted by the Tallinn University School of Digital Technologies, but is run in collaboration with the School of Educational Sciences, the School of Natural Sciences and Health, and the Baltic Film, Media, Art and Communication School.

Our curriculum aims to create conditions for the formation of true gaming and education professionals who know how to integrate expertise in education and design with modern by using innovative educational tools that support learning and creation. The curriculum consists of four core areas: - Game Design and Gamification - Interaction Design - Developmental and Cognitive Psychology - Game Development (new) The programme is carried out in cooperation with four different academic units of Tallinn University: - Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School - School of Digital Technologies - School of Educational Sciences - School of Natural Sciences and Health

Mission: Our mission is to bring together people with different backgrounds (programmers, designers, artists, teachers, ...), share knowledge and design games in collaboration with each other. And also to play games and have fun. ;)

Tallinna Ülikool ELU projektid annavad hea võimaluse teha interdissiplinaarseid ja teistsuguseid asju, kui tudengite ja teadlaste argipäev muidu võimaldaks.

Selliselt sündis sügissemestril ühe uue lauamängu prototüüp. Lauamäng seob endasse mitmed valdkonnad, mis on Ökoloogia keskuse põhiteemade hulgas - Kurtna järvestiku, ökosüsteemiteenused ja keskkonnahariduse. Tegu on veel esimese prototüübiga, aga küll see edasi areneb ja ükskord valmis saab.

Projekti juhendasid Jaanus Terasmaa Ökoloogia keskusest, tõsimängude spetsialist Triinu Jesmin Digitehnoloogiate instituudist ja Joonas Sildre. Projekti meeskonnas olid Kiira Ottasson, Jörgen Ivar Sikk, Tõnis Nurk, Norman Salong, Maarja Kändmaa, Kertu Saare, Siim Taring ja Mari-Liis Haviko.

DLG is a member of ALIEN project (Active learning in Engineering Education, Erasmus+ Capacity Building project http://projectalien.eu/). The project kick off meeting took place in Volos on Jun 20 - 22

The Kick-off meeting for the ALIEN project took place in Volos, Greece from the 20th until the 22nd of the June 2018 🇬🇷️

It was a great opportunity to meet all partners involved in the project from Europe and Asia and discuss important matters related with the project: aims, outputs, financial and administrative issues, dissemination, etc.

The next project meeting will be held in Kuala Lumpur to be hosted by University of Malaya on January 9-11, 2019 🇲🇾️
