Diary of a Capoeira Teacher (Part 6)
Crisis

One more crisis... and this time an extremely serious and Global one.
I say one more because about 10 years ago I lived in a country with a financial crisis, a complete bankruptcy. A crisis that affected not only mine but several other countries. Some more, others less but regarding mine and me, extremely serious.
People without work, unable to find jobs and many forced to emigrate. Where a father or mother used to put their child in 3 or 4 extra-curricular activities, now it would be one and even that One would be with extreme financial difficulty.

My work has decreased exponentially but it didn't stopped. The work continued, adapting to the harsh and horrible reality that we where but gradually it improved. Slowly the country stabilize and slowly those improvements and adaptations bare fruits. What remained was to keep on fighting and working hard until the return of "normality".

Today, I am forced to stop every single classes and spaces that I have because our health and our society are at extreme risk. I am almost unable to teach my classes and do my normal work. But I wrote, almost! Almost, because lowering your arms is giving up and as my Master taught me "only the weak, give's up".
We can't lower our arms, we have to look for new ways to train, to work and also making the students, my students move. So they don't fall into the rust of body and mind and above all, returning to a small normality. Even If it's only for one hour, inside our houses looking at a phone or computer monitor. We trained, we sweat the shirt, we fought the virus and above all we fought the monotony of staying at home and doing "nothing".

As life never goes good to great people. A fire just consume completely the house of our student Montanha and his lovely family Paul, Maarja and his Montanha's little brother.
They are in good health but they had to leave home with just their cloths on as the rest was most probably burn down on the fire.
