✨ Meet Our Teachers Day 4: Rector Dr Laur Lilleoja ✨

Do you know who's at the head of the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary helping to direct our school's academic and spiritual development?
Dr Laur Lilleoja initially joined the BMTS team as a teacher, and stepped into the role of rector in the fall of 2024.
Laur has a doctorate in Sociology from Tallinn University. He's worked as a lecturer and research fellow at universities in Estonia and beyond, and has made great contributions to the Estonian Council of Churches' studies in the field of Sociology of Religion.
Laur's vision is to keep the Seminary a place where biblical truth, academic study, and real-life practical experience go hand in hand– so that each student might have the opportunity to grow both in knowledge and their spiritual calling.

At BMTS, Laur teaches the Foundations of Scientific Research courses that help students prepare to write their diploma paper. 👩‍🎓🧑‍🎓

While our BA studies have already begun, you can always join our continuing education courses that open throughout the year! 👉 https://koolitused.emkts.ee/

"Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you." Mt 28:19-20a, HCSB 📖

BMTS teacher and research-fellow Andrus Kask and student Danil Solomykov took a mission team to Albania in the second half of August. Teams from Estonia have been going to Albania for years. This year's team went representing 4 different congregations! ⛪

The aim of their 2-week trip was to support a local Pentecostal church in the capital Tirana, as well as another smaller town in Bilishti- 9km from the Greek border.
Their aim was to bring teaching and encouragement. During their time there, they shared the gospel on the streets, offered prayer, and organized three evangelic festivals! They were also able to help out with a children's event in the area. ✝️

Andrus and Danil have both been missionaries for years. It is a privilege to have been able to support them in their ministry! 🤍
Join us in praying for them that the Lord would continue to give them wisdom, guidance, and provision, and that their ministry would bear good fruit wherever He sends them! 🙏

🌿Day 3 of introducing our beloved faculty: meet Tetyana!

Tetyana Radomska's path towards BMTS began in 2001 when she and her sister came to Tallinn to study Theology. From that point on, her life has revolved around the Word of God, teaching and ministry.

Tetyana is passionate about studying Scripture inductively, which is a method that she feels helps people become more deeply and personally familiar with it. She has taught both kids and adults, has organized family seminars for her church for over a decade, and been active in youth and kids ministry for years.

At the Baltic Methodist Theological Seminary, she will be teaching you:
- Inductive Bible Study: Mark
- Inductive Bible Study: Romans
- Inductive Bible Study: Exodus
- New Testament Greek
- New Testament Exegesis
- Old Testament Prophets

For Tetyana, teaching is not just an occupation—it's a calling to help people dive into the Word of God and grow spiritually❤️

✨ Come to BMTS and discover the depths of Scripture and grow in your calling!

Blessed to receive visitors!

This week we had a group of missionaries from USA Southwest Ministries- a branch of World Gospel Mission. Both their ministry among Native American peoples as well as our historical work among Finno-Ugric peoples are rooted in the same principle: God speaks to each people group in their own language and culture.

WGM Southwest focuses on:
🤝 Partering with local Native American churches
🏕️ Youth ministry, including spiritual mentorship and camps
📻 Radio ministry and supporting local leaders on reserves

For BMTS, an important ministry has been our mission work among Finno-Ugric peoples:
📖 Offering Theological education and training for spiritual leaders,
🕊️ Supporting the work needed to be done to bring the gospel to them in their own native tongue.

We feel our ministries are connected by a dream to help bring up local ministry workers and to support indigenous peoples national identity in the light of the Lord's grace ✝️✨

Let us pray for each of these ministries in the coming week 🙏

"The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever; the ordinances of the Lord are reliable and altogether righteous. They are more desirable than gold - than an abundance of pure gold; and sweeter than honey - than honey dripping from the comb." Psalm 19: 9-10, HCSB

Something's-a-buzzin' on the Seminary rooftop 🐝🐝🐝

Our alumnus- and now resident beekeeper- Jarl Šapovalov has set up a number of beehives on our roof. Thanks to him we can now offer guests our own honey flavoured with the blooms from the neighbouring Kadriorg park 🌱🍯

What you may not know is that city honey is often cleaner than country honey! This is because of the far smaller quantities of pesticides used in cities compared to farmland that bees have a hard time filtering out of the honey.

Our first batch was collected in June and sampled by our Board of Trustees and EMC partners 🤝 Thanks to Jim Davis from the Board for being our model 😃

The colourful design on the jars was created by our other talented alumnus Ain Vares 🎨
We're truly blessed to have such awesome alumni! Thank you both! ❤️🙌
