Fresh ideas and meaningful discussions marked today’s online meeting of the “PERFECT” team ✨

Partners from Tartu Tervishoiu Kõrgkool / Tartu Applied Health Sciences University, Univerza na Primorskem / University of Primorska, Sveučilište u Rijeci / University of Rijeka, Буковинський державний медичний університет, ХНПУ імені Г.С. Сковороди came together to review two fully developed units: "The Integumentary System" and "Paediatric and Child Care". This session gave us the chance to reflect on the content, exchange perspectives, and further enhance the quality of our materials.

We focused on ensuring that each unit supports students not only in understanding key medical concepts, but also in developing the language skills needed in real healthcare settings.

With every step, we continue shaping a course that is practical, engaging, and truly beneficial for future professionals!

Yesterday marked the final day of our course piloting week. We travelled to Tallinn and spent the day at East Tallinn Central Hospital, where we had the opportunity to visit several hospital departments. Our tour was led by Johanna Kraas and her colleagues - dedicated in-service nurses who shared valuable insights into their daily professional practice and experiences.

After the tour, we held thoughtful discussions about the course and the materials we have developed so far. One of the main aims of our project is to identify the needs and meet the educational expectations of in-service nurses, supporting them in building confidence when communicating in English in their professional environment.

Following insightful feedback, we concluded the day by exchanging final ideas and presenting participation certificates.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Alesia Golovko and her team from Tartu Tervishoiu Kõrgkool / Tartu Applied Health Sciences University for hosting this inspiring and productive piloting week of the “PERFECT” project.

On the fourth day of our piloting week, we discussed all the classes that had been previously conducted and observed. We highlighted the strong elements of the materials prepared by all partners and outlined possible strategies for further improvement!

Our project manager, Alesia Golovko, also gave us a wonderful tour of the university library, where students spend time between classes expanding their knowledge using both books and modern technological resources. We had the opportunity to explore existing printed materials in the field of English for Nursing.

Despite the wide variety of educational resources available, we clearly see a gap in materials that could effectively develop all language skills while also preparing students for the OET exam and their future careers in nursing. We sincerely hope that the results of our cooperation and the materials developed within the project will help bridge this gap and provide valuable support for future nursing professionals.

We are steadily moving through our piloting week in Tartu!

The day started with a class taught by Barbara Jursa Potocco from Univerza na Primorskem / University of Primorska (Slovenia) where students worked on the “Respiratory System” unit. After gathering feedback and discussing the session, we continued with another class on the “Renal System”, led by Olena Chekhratova, our partner from H.S. Skovoroda Kharkiv National Pedagogical University (Ukraine).

Students were engaged and actively participated in the activities, contributing to a productive learning environment. The discussions that followed provided valuable feedback for further improving the materials and classroom activities.

After the working day, we enjoyed a guided tour around Tartu led by Martin Avameri (Tartu Tervishoiu Kõrgkool / Tartu Applied Health Sciences University).

Overall, it was another successful and productive day during the piloting week!

The second day of our piloting week was just as productive as the first!

We started the day with two classes led by Vira Yakymchuk and Anna Vykliuk - our partners from Буковинський державний медичний університет.

During the sessions, students actively participated in the piloting of the “Cardiovascular System” and “Nervous System” units, providing a valuable opportunity to test the developed materials in a real classroom setting.

Following the classes, the team held a feedback discussion where colleagues shared useful insights, reflections, and suggestions. We will continue to refine and improve the materials based on the feedback received, ensuring their effectiveness and practical value for future use!

Let the piloting week of the PERFECT project begin👩‍🏫📚!

We started in Tartu, where the entire project team gathered to discuss the developed units and begin piloting classes at Tartu Tervishoiu Kõrgkool / Tartu Applied Health Sciences University.

The first half of the day was dedicated to Nursing curriculum modernization and the role of English in it, presented by R**t Urban (Tartu Applied Health Sciences University).

This was followed by a presentation from the Kharkiv team introducing the class feedback template that will be used during the piloting process to collect and analyze teachers’ reflections.

The team then continued with a working discussion focused on reviewing the project units and identifying possible improvements based on the first piloting experiences.

In the second half of the day, Alesia Golovko conducted two pilot classes as part of the project implementation.

Together, we continue working toward improving the quality of education and creating meaningful learning opportunities for our students.
