LinkedIn recommendations are like the โญโญโญโญโญ on the bottle of cognac. Here are 5 simple steps to help you request a recommendation:

1๏ธโƒฃ Go to your Linkedin profile. Scroll down to the Recommendations section.

2๏ธโƒฃ Push the โž• on the top right corner of it. Select โ€œAsk for a recommendationโ€

3๏ธโƒฃ Find the person youโ€™d like to ask for a recommendation.

You will need to be connected on LinkedIn.

4๏ธโƒฃ Choose the Relationship and Position

Select the most accurate options from the dropdown lists and click Next.

5๏ธโƒฃ Include a personalized message with your request. Click Send.

PRO tips:

Avoid the default LinkedIn message!

Start with a friendly greeting and thank them for your past collaboration.

Be specific about what to highlight

Guide the person on what youโ€™d like them to focus on.
This makes it easier for them to write a meaningful recommendation.

Once the recommendation is received, send a thank-you message to express your appreciation. โค๏ธ

Donโ€™t forget the golden rule โ€œGive to takeโ€.
Kind words donโ€™t cost much but can make someoneโ€™s day!

Does a prepayment for your services ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐จ๐ง?
For me, it absolutely does the job.
The moment I receive a prepayment, my full focus shifts to the project.

The client gets my full attention, and I usually deliver candidates within 1-2 weeks.

Prepayment motivates me to ๐ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐›๐ž๐ฌ๐ญโ€”๐ญ๐จ ๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ!

But what happens when a new client says:
โ€œWe donโ€™t pay prepayments to recruitment agencies.โ€

I see red flags. ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ๐Ÿšฉ

๐–๐ก๐ฒ?

Because this often signals a low ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฅ ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ to filling the vacancies.
It may suggest the client doesnโ€™t truly believe in the outcome.

Hereโ€™s what typically happens in 80% of such cases:
๐Ÿšซ No proper feedback on candidate profiles.
๐Ÿšซ No ownership from the hiring manager.
๐Ÿšซ No urgency to close the deal with the candidate.
