Iโm teaching Technical Competence to recruiters, and this question came up in my mentee's homework.
๐กSDET stands for Software Developer in Test.
A developer might write and run unit tests for their code, but an SDET typically develops comprehensive testing frameworks that support the entire application. Their work goes beyond just testing the code they write.

LinkedIn recommendations are like the โญโญโญโญโญ on the bottle of cognac. Here are 5 simple steps to help you request a recommendation:
1๏ธโฃ Go to your Linkedin profile. Scroll down to the Recommendations section.
2๏ธโฃ Push the โ on the top right corner of it. Select โAsk for a recommendationโ
3๏ธโฃ Find the person youโd like to ask for a recommendation.
You will need to be connected on LinkedIn.
4๏ธโฃ Choose the Relationship and Position
Select the most accurate options from the dropdown lists and click Next.
5๏ธโฃ Include a personalized message with your request. Click Send.
PRO tips:
Avoid the default LinkedIn message!
Start with a friendly greeting and thank them for your past collaboration.
Be specific about what to highlight
Guide the person on what youโd like them to focus on.
This makes it easier for them to write a meaningful recommendation.
Once the recommendation is received, send a thank-you message to express your appreciation. โค๏ธ
Donโt forget the golden rule โGive to takeโ.
Kind words donโt cost much but can make someoneโs day!

Does a prepayment for your services ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐จ๐ง?
For me, it absolutely does the job.
The moment I receive a prepayment, my full focus shifts to the project.
The client gets my full attention, and I usually deliver candidates within 1-2 weeks.
Prepayment motivates me to ๐ ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐ฆ๐ฒ ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญโ๐ญ๐จ ๐จ๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ!
But what happens when a new client says:
โWe donโt pay prepayments to recruitment agencies.โ
I see red flags. ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ
๐๐ก๐ฒ?
Because this often signals a low ๐ฅ๐๐ฏ๐๐ฅ ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐ข๐ญ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ to filling the vacancies.
It may suggest the client doesnโt truly believe in the outcome.
Hereโs what typically happens in 80% of such cases:
๐ซ No proper feedback on candidate profiles.
๐ซ No ownership from the hiring manager.
๐ซ No urgency to close the deal with the candidate.
