Celebrate the EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES with Vikerraadio's annual quiz! 🇪🇺

Once again, our students demonstrate their multilingualism by reading excerpts from the Moomin books in eleven different languages!

The game opens on the Vikerraadio website on 24 September at 7:00 and closes on 25 September at 15:00. You can take part individually or as a class, in either Estonian or English.

The results of the game will be presented on Owe Petersell's programme on 25 September at 16:15.

The game is organised by Vikerraadio, the European Commission Representation in Estonia, and Tallinn European School (Tallinna Euroopa Kool).

***The TES 2026 Applied Mathematics Seminar reached a number of important milestones***

Hosted at the Pelgulinn State Gymnasium this past Thursday, Day 2 of the 2026 TES Applied Seminar welcomed students from outside TES for the very first time.

The competition was fierce between S6 Frida Ballestrin, representing TES with a presentation on The Gillepsie Algorithm in Biochemical Dynamics and IST’s Tuna Ozpray (Volume Optimization of a Dumbell CAD Model) and IST’s Rostyslav Klochok (The Brachistochrone Problem).

Frida interestingly supplemented and corroborated her presentation with an experiment she conducted on germs collected on various surfaces at TES; an experiment that accessorily confirmed that we are living in a safe environment at TES.

TES Director Ian Karell, TES Math Coordinator and Seminar organizer Pierre Blime, and IST Math Coordinator Hina Harif awarded Tuna Ozpray (IST), Alessio Martinez (TES) with the prestigious TES Math Seminars Award Certificate. Rostyslav Klochok (IST), Mikolaj Adamczyk (TES) and Frida Ballestrin were awarded with TES Math Seminars Award with Distinction Certificates.

The winner of the competition this year was TES S6 Jacopo Salfa, with a grade of 9.5/10 obtained on May 6 with his presentation Logic Gates in Computer Microchips. Jacopo obtained the best grade ever recorded for this competition and will be welcome next year as a member of the Jury for the 2027 edition of the Seminars.

We are looking forward to extending the scope of the competition next year to include again more schools and progressively reach its aim to become a national competition that will help many talents in entering in highly competitive scientific universities.

Last week marked our fifth science week at TES!

S6 & S7 showed us their scientific skills all week, working with liquid nitrogen, invisible ink, elephants toothpaste, & more experiments!

David McGregor, science teacher and coordinator, would like to thank all of the students that participated in the week, all the students & staff that came to see, as well as Nikita & Frida who co-ordinated the event. Finally, also thanks to Mr Ülari, without whom the week would not be possible.

We're all looking forward to seeing what the students want to do next year!

And of course, we're looking forward to Nursery and Primary Science Fair this week!

TES wishes the Republic of Estonia a happy independence birthday! 108 years today 🇪🇪

Today we celebrated Estonian 108th Independence Day with three assemblies in the Assembly Hall. Students attended the assembly with their class level.

"Although Estonia is small and not so famous, it is lovely that we can celebrate its birthday within our multicultural school." Miina & Birgitta S4

Students sang traditional Estonian songs, took part in a quiz about the symbols of Estonia, watched video made by Estonian language Students and danced the traditional Estonian sabatants.
