In addition to smartphones, the Android operating system runs on a wide variety of device types, from tablets to watches and even TVs. The Google Play Store is the most popular marketplace for Android apps, and now its owner has changed the functionality of the store for the better. Before downloading, users will be able to see ratings and comments on the application, which will depend on the type of device used.
If earlier reviews were combined for all versions of the software, now the user sees "personalized" ratings and reviews.
The feature has been in development since August 2021 and was supposed to appear at the beginning of this year, but Google only started rolling it out recently. "Ratings are based on recent reviews from people in your area using the same type of device as you," Google Play says.
This does not mean that the user will see a "unique" rating - the average values remain the same, but the number of visible comments has changed, and it is possible to read the opinions of users of similar devices. It is expected that the innovation will have some impact on the number of downloads of the same application from different gadgets, as users will see different responses.
Earlier it was reported that the publication of reviews in the marketplace will be delayed by 24 hours for their "filtering", although developers will still have access to them immediately.

Last year, Google announced the Play Games app for Windows computers. After the beta release, it was only available in a few regions. Now their list and the number of players admitted to the platform have been expanded, and test participants will no longer need powerful gaming video cards.

If earlier testing was carried out only in Hong Kong, South Korea and Taiwan, and you had to be on the “waiting list” for a long time, now access has been expanded and will probably continue to expand in the future. So far, Thailand and Australia have joined the experiment. In addition, the limits on the number of players have been removed.
It is noteworthy that Google has significantly reduced the system requirements for computers. A gaming graphics card is no longer needed - a processor with an integrated graphics accelerator like Intel UHD Graphics 630 is enough. The processor itself now needs four physical cores instead of eight, and, finally, the required free space on the SSD has been reduced from 20 to 10 GB.
However, there is no word yet on when Google is planning a full release of Play Games. The company says that it will continue to add new features to the platform and collect feedback from players and developers.
