WINNOVATORS PILOT TRAININGS IN SLOVENIA

On March 13, 2023, we started the pilot implementation of trainings within the Winnovators project in Slovenia, involving 20 young women from vulnerable groups, recruited in cooperation with the Employment Service of Slovenia, the Chamber of Agriculture and Forestry of Slovenia and the Rural Youth Association. Teachers and students from the Faculty of Education at the University of Ljubljana are also involved in the project.
Participants have access to a wide range of online courses covering , entrepreneurship, organisation, leadership, innovation and sustainable development. The courses are designed to allow participants to learn at their own pace.
In addition to the courses, participants also took part in one of the following challenges: developing simple interactive content, creating mini-games, 360-degree virtual tours, or co-creating with Canva. These challenges involve active forms of work, promote the acquisition of general computer skills, and enable the development of modern and innovative digital content.
In the first week, we introduced the online environment, courses and challenges, and engaged participants in project groups. Over the next 10 weeks, participants learn the theoretical background of the technology used, gradually develop a design for the project, evaluate it, and then implement it. The pilot training concludes with a presentation of the final products.

WINNOVATORS PILOT: SUPPORT YOUNG ADULTS THROUGH PROJECT WORK IN AN E-LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

A new form of learning will increase the agency of both youth work students and young women from rural communities at the same time enabling universities to develop innovative and flexible models of teaching.
The second-year Youth Work students of Tallinn University School of Educational Sciences are exploring through problem-based learning different solutions to the question of how to involve and support young adults through project work in an e-learning environment.
In order to better understand adults as a target group, including the foundation for their the engagement and motivating factors, the students first mapped out what are the current issues or challenges young adults are facing in the modern society, how and what kind of global trends are influencing young adults life and work with the target group. This helped them to understand what role they as future youth workers and change agents could take to empower young people.
Contact with the target group was established through local youth workers and youth centres, which will support in the co-operation and in interaction with the local community.
Through the Winnovator-space, the students will engage young women from rural areas, at the same time learning how to apply project management basics to support the implementation of young people's project ideas as a part of study course Project Work in the Youth Work.
Together, through Winnovators challenges, they will develop practical solutions on how to:
- create digital learning communities;
- develop interactive game-based tourism activities;
- create sustainable development outputs for resource re-use and re-use;
- map environmental challenges in a community-engaging way.

e-MENTORING

For all women entrepreneurs, even when they have a lot of experience and knowledge, it is sometimes important to get support or to consult with someone who knows how to encourage, motivate or guide them when starting a business, but also if they need to overcome obstacles in already developed company. This is the moment when mentors enter the scene.
Realizing the importance of support, especially for young women entrepreneurs, startup or would-be entrepreneurs, the Association of Business Women in Serbia launched an e-MENTORING page on its website long before the pandemic crisis, when online activities reached their expansion.
ABW members, but also other successful women, entrepreneurs, businesswomen and managers from Serbia and other countries are quite willing to share their knowledge with women who want to improve themselves, start a business or learn more about it. Activities are carried out online, mentors and mentees use available e-tools, video calls, social networks, which enables interaction of participants from different cities and even countries.

Visit the ABW Serbia e-MENTORING page:

Mentoring support will also be implemented in the three-year project that offers , especially those from disadvantaged rural areas, , and tools to help them develop their entrepreneurial capacities and provide them with additional knowledge.

SAVE THE VILLAGE WEB SHOP

There are many high-quality food products that women from rural areas produce in the traditional way and for which there are many interested customers, especially in big cities where such food is less available. The problem, however, is how to bring these products closer to the wide market and thus help women from rural areas to develop their entrepreneurial potential and become more economically independent.
Understanding the needs of urban women and above all women from rural areas, the Association of Business Women in Serbia in cooperation with the Association of women Save the Village from Priboj, Southwestern Serbia, created at the end of 2022 a web shop to bring traditional, healthy food products closer to the market of the urban population, as a part of ABW project "Enhancing capacities of women entrepreneurs for introduction of innovative business processes and provision of technical support for establishment of web sales shop for rebranded traditional food products from SW Serbia", supported by the German Agency for International Cooperation GIZ.
In this way, with the development of their entrepreneurial abilities and the use of modern technologies, women from the villages of Priboj area found a suitable model for marketing their products, hand-grown fruits and vegetables from 1.000 meters above sea level, treated in a natural way, which they turned into traditional, squeezed or thermally processed products.
This is one of the successful ways of supporting women from rural areas.
Another way to support from disadvantage rural areas are projects like that provide them with that offers them, through informal education and e-learning, and tools to develop their entrepreneurial capacities and to launch their ideas on the market.
