Dear friends... 🙏

After 3.5 years of building Cerebrum Hub and helping adults start new tech careers, today we need to share difficult news - we are closing our doors.

The journey here wasn’t easy. 2024 brought big challenges - economic uncertainty and high inflation made people less willing to invest in reskilling. Despite our best efforts to adapt, we reached a point where continuing became impossible and not sustainable.

But when I look back, my heart fills with pride:
➡️ 500+ people from 8 countries started new tech careers
➡️ Our passionate mentors delivered 1000+ workshops
➡️ We helped create real, positive change in people's lives

Honestly, writing this feels a bit strange. After years of building, closing is like saying goodbye to a good friend. Yet, we’ve learned that sometimes the end of one journey opens doors to new opportunities.

What stays with us forever:
• Experience of working with incredible people
• Joy of seeing others grow and succeed
• All the lessons we learned together

To our mentors who shared their knowledge, partners who believed in us, team members who gave their best, and especially our brave students - THANK YOU.

The tech world moves fast, and so must we. While Cerebrum Hub's story ends here, the impact we created lives on through hundreds of new tech careers we helped launch.

We are deeply thankful for the chance to work with all of you. ❤️

Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of hosting our very first conference in Tallinn dedicated to individuals interested in reskilling into the tech industry.

The event was a huge success, with more than 150 people joining us both offline and online. The day was filled with insightful talks from our amazing speakers, who generously shared their valuable experiences and knowledge.

Huge thanks to all the participants and our fantastic speakers: Margo Loor, Külli Gutmann, Irina Filippova, Lavrenti Tsudakov, Heleen Anderson, Oleg Shvaikovsky, Katarina Künnapas, Melissa Padjus, Vladimir Niinimäki, Dmitri Gostev, Kadi Kangur, Yulia Kolnes and Anastasia Petrova.

I also want to thank our sponsors who helped make it happen: Askend, TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology, and Smartwork NGO/NPO - Research, Consultancy & Training. Special thanks to Sirja Sulakatko and Heliis Tiitma for your support and dedication.

Given the high interest and positive feedback, we're excited to announce that we're planning an even bigger event at the beginning of next year! Stay tuned for updates—we can't wait to bring our amazing community together once again.

Is it worth becoming an IT specialist now or is it too late? How difficult is it to find a job in the IT industry in the current economic situation and what awaits us in the future?

Andres Gavriljuk, the founder of Cerebrum Hub, discussed this and more on Raadio 4 last Thursday.

📍Listen to the recording of the broadcast here: https://r4.err.ee/1609309734/stoit-li-sejchas-pereuchivatsja-na-it-specialista

By now, with a 99% certainty, you've seen that Facebook and Instagram crashed...

Facebook is a colossal corporation, its app boasting extensive functionality. Nearly a billion people use it daily, and Meta, the parent company, rakes in enormous profits by selling ads (which we also purchase on Facebook and Instagram, thereby spending money).

And now Facebook is down. People can't use the app, and advertisers can't buy ads.

Facebook is losing money.

And who's to blame?
A lousy tester.

You see, before launching any new feature, it's necessary to conduct testing of the entire application to ensure that the entire system's functionality remains intact. For this purpose, every IT company has testers—manual and automated—who perform actions within the application to ensure everything is working.

Apparently, the group of testers who checked the app before rolling out the update today didn't get enough sleep and missed something.

The current case demonstrates how vital the profession of a tester is.

This Thursday, Andres, the founder of Cerebrum Hub, will host a webinar - "How to Start a Career in IT in 6 Months and Become a Software Tester," and it's crucial for you to attend this webinar.

During it, you'll learn more about this profession, complete a practical assignment, and find out how to kickstart your career in this field.

📍Moreover, this is the last webinar before the launch of our training program on March 12, so it's the perfect opportunity to ask any questions you may have before the start of the training.

The webinar will take place this Thursday, March 7, at 19:00 (Tallinn time) or 17:00 (Lisbon time).

👉You can reserve your spot here: www.cerebrumhub.com/becoming-a-software-tester

Become a tester and help major IT companies avoid the same mistake that occurred today. Save companies millions of euros, as well as thousands of satisfied customers!

24/02/2024

We've launched our new software testing product - Marathon404.

It's a 6-day marathon where each participant will gain their first experience in manual software testing.

Who is it for and why?

For those who have been considering a career in IT but aren't sure if it's right for them.
During the marathon, you'll conduct your first software testing, both individually and in teams (just like in real IT companies).

You'll also write your first documentation and receive career guidance on how to turn your acquired skills into a well-paying IT profession.

👉Our marathon kicks off on Monday, February 26th, so if you want to gain your first IT experience, join us: www.cerebrumhub.com/marathon

Let's hope Santa doesn't get a 404 error finding your house. Merry Tech-mas!
