Can you train a cat to stand on command? Apparently, yes!

We tried it in five very small steps:

Step 1: Please, just show up! I have treats.
Step 2: Stay in the right place.
Step 3: Lift the chin for a treat.
Step 4: Experience partial liftoff. 🚀
Step 5: Paws off the payload.

About two weeks later, we had something remarkably close to a trained cat.

Cell theory in one minute

Hooke looks at cork. Leeuwenhoek finds microbes. Brown finds the nucleus. Schleiden checks plants. Schwann checks animals. Virchow ties it all together.

A few centuries of cell biology in about a minute.

How Many Laws of Physics Can You Spot?

Think physics is just a bunch of boring formulas in a textbook? Not even close. Look around you!

A ball falls? Gravity.
You see yourself in a mirror? The law of reflection.
A straw looks bent in a glass of water? Refraction.

What else can you spot in this picture? Now look around the room. Physics is everywhere. What can you find?

Can you spot the Horsehead, the Butterfly, the Pillars of Creation, and the Hourglass?

Many cosmic nebulae and structures have names inspired by their shapes — and some are surprisingly easy to recognize once you know what to look for.
This is one of the visual challenges from my interactive lesson on the birth and death of stars.

A moment from my science class.

Two brothers. Zoom.
They spent the entire session critiquing each other’s answers.

“That’s wrong.”
“You forgot this.”

At some point, I asked:
“Are you two friends or rivals?”

They paused. Looked at each other. Then hugged.

“We’re brothers.”
