Do your students struggle with -ed pronunciation of regular past verbs?⁣
⁣
Try this activity!⁣
⁣
1) Write a list of base form verbs on the board and the past forms next to them.⁣
⁣
2) Drill the pronunciation of the -ed ending.⁣
⁣
3) Students stand in a semi-circle and start soft clapping to keep a beat.⁣
⁣
4) One learner begins by saying the base form at the same time as a clap, then the past form on a different clap.⁣
⁣
5) Then the next learner does the second word in the list and so on.⁣
⁣
6) Make it competitive by having students sit down when they mispronounce a past form or miss a beat.⁣
