Para este año lectivo, el Comité Central de Padres de Familia estará integrado por María del Carmen, presidenta; Erika, secretaria; Juan Carlos, tesorero; y Verónica, auditora.
Ellos reciben ahora la voz de muchas familias: sus ideas, inquietudes y propuestas para acompañar de cerca lo que vivimos como comunidad.
También queremos agradecer a Luis, presidente saliente, por el tiempo, la disposición y el trabajo compartido durante su gestión. 🤝
Una nueva directiva empieza su camino y la conversación sigue abierta para todos.

Families also help shape a school community when they choose to get involved. 💙
This school year, the Central Parent Committee will be formed by María del Carmen, President; Erika, Secretary; Juan Carlos, Treasurer; and Verónica, Auditor.
They now take on the voices of many families: their ideas, concerns, and proposals for staying closely connected to what we experience as a community.
We also want to thank Luis, outgoing President, for his time, commitment, and work throughout his term. 🤝
A new committee begins its journey, and the conversation remains open to everyone.

¿Y cómo son tus clases? 👀
Si después de una clase todavía estás pensando por qué un láser cambió de dirección, probablemente algo hizo clic. 🔦🪞
Nuestros estudiantes de 3.º de Bachillerato trabajaron luz y reflexión junto a profesores invitados de la USFQ, probando ángulos, siguiendo trayectorias y viendo cómo la Física se entiende distinto cuando puedes ponerla a prueba.
De esas clases que terminan y todavía te dejan algo dando vueltas. ✨

If you are still thinking about why a laser changed direction after class, something probably clicked. 🔦🪞
Our 12th-grade students explored light and reflection alongside guest professors from USFQ, testing angles, following trajectories, and seeing how Physics feels different when you can actually put it to the test.
The kind of class that ends and still leaves you thinking about it. ✨

Algún día, estas fotos van a valer mucho más de lo que valen hoy. 📸
Van a recordar quién estaba al lado, quién los hizo reír, cómo se veía su curso y esa etapa en la que empezaban a sentirse un poquito más grandes.
La chompa quedará guardada. Las fotos también. Y con ellas, una parte de todo lo que 7.º EGB significó para ellos y para sus familias.
Porque hay recuerdos escolares que terminan acompañándonos mucho después de salir del aula. 💙

One day, these photos will mean much more than they do today. 📸
They will remember who stood beside them, who made them laugh, what their class looked like, and that stage when they were beginning to feel just a little more grown up.
The jacket will be kept. The photos will too. And with them, a piece of everything 7th grade meant to them and to their families.
Some school memories stay with us long after we leave the classroom. 💙

¿En qué momento dejaron de ser tan pequeños? 🥹
Un día los acompañamos de la mano. Y casi sin darnos cuenta, empiezan a tener su grupo, sus historias, sus bromas y esos recuerdos que ya les pertenecen solo a ellos.
Para 7.º EGB, esta chompa representa justamente eso: sentirse parte de algo que han construido juntos mientras crecían.
Escucharlos hablar de lo que significa para ellos también nos recuerda algo a las familias: crecer es ganar autonomía, encontrar un lugar entre otros y empezar a escribir una historia propia. 💙

When did they stop being so little? 🥹
One day, we are holding their hand. Then, almost without noticing, they begin to have their own group, their own stories, their inside jokes, and memories that belong to them.
For our 7th graders, this jacket represents exactly that: feeling part of something they have built together as they grow.
Listening to what it means to them reminds families of something too: growing up means gaining independence, finding your place among others, and beginning to write a story of your own. 💙

Roberto llevará el estandarte del Liceo José Ortega y Gasset.
Y antes de verlo hacerlo, sus padres, Roberto y Maribel, quisieron regalarle unas palabras.
Hablan de su hijo, de lo que reconocen en él y de lo que significa verlo representar a un lugar que también ha formado parte de su vida familiar.
Ese estandarte llevará el nombre del Liceo.
Roberto lo llevará con una historia construida también desde casa.

Para nosotros, eso es profundamente OG: familias que han crecido junto al colegio y estudiantes que, con el tiempo, terminan representando algo que también sienten suyo.
Mejores personas, mejor futuro.

Roberto will carry the standard of Liceo José Ortega y Gasset.
Before seeing him do so, his parents, Roberto and Maribel, wanted to give him a few words of their own.
They speak about their son, about what they see in him and what it means to watch him represent a place that has also become part of their family life.
That standard will carry the name of the Liceo.
Roberto will carry it with a story that has also been shaped at home.

For us, that is deeply OG: families that have grown alongside the school and students who, over time, come to represent something they also feel is part of them.

A veces, una mamá encuentra las palabras exactas para decir todo lo que un reconocimiento no alcanza a contar.
Ivanova le habla hoy a Martina desde la emoción de quien conoce de cerca sus esfuerzos, sus días buenos, sus retos y la persona en la que se ha ido convirtiendo.
Martina será Portaestandarte de la Ciudad de Quito.
Y este momento también pertenece a esa conversación entre madre e hija que durante años ha acompañado su vida escolar.

Porque crecer en OG también significa construir recuerdos que un día terminan viviendo en toda una familia.
Mejores personas, mejor futuro.

Sometimes, a mother finds the exact words to express everything an award alone cannot say.
Today, Ivanova speaks to Martina with the emotion of someone who has witnessed her effort, her good days, her challenges and the person she has grown to become.
Martina will serve as Bearer of the City of Quito Standard.
This moment also belongs to that bond between mother and daughter that has accompanied her throughout her school years.

Because growing at OG also means creating memories that one day become part of an entire family.

Hoy, María Fernanda y Humberto Ricardo hablan con Camila desde ese lugar que solo conocen los padres: el de haberla visto crecer de cerca.
La ven recibir uno de los reconocimientos más importantes de su vida escolar y, por un momento, todo se resume en algo mucho más simple: poder decirle cuánto significa para ellos verla llegar hasta aquí.
Camila será Abanderada del Pabellón Nacional.
Sus padres le ponen palabras a un logro que lleva su nombre y a tantos años que esta familia también ha compartido con nosotros.

Eso también es ser parte de OG: crecer en un lugar que termina siendo parte de la memoria familiar.

Today, María Fernanda and Humberto Ricardo speak to Camila from a place only parents truly know: the place of having watched her grow up close.
They see her receive one of the most meaningful recognitions of her school years, and for a moment, everything comes down to something much simpler: telling her what it means to see her reach this moment.
Camila will serve as Bearer of the National Flag.
Her parents give words to an achievement that carries her name and to the many years this family has also shared with us.

That is also part of being OG: growing in a place that eventually becomes part of a family’s memories.

Qué bonito es verlos llegar hasta aquí. 💙
Hoy celebramos a nuestros estudiantes del Cuadro de Honor, un reconocimiento que habla de todo lo que han entregado durante su vida escolar y del compromiso con el que asumieron su formación.
Sentimos un orgullo enorme al ver en quiénes se están convirtiendo. Hemos tenido la suerte de acompañarlos durante años, verlos crecer y llegar a tercero de Bachillerato ocupando un lugar tan especial para nuestra comunidad.

Vale started university with one less subject on her schedule. 👀🎓
Her Cambridge certification, earned during her time at the Liceo, allowed her to be exempted from taking English at university. She came back to tell us about her experience and what it meant to start this new stage with that certification already achieved.
