Those of us who belong to Generation X grew up in an analog world that forced us to solve problems with ingenuity, discipline, and a focus on tangible results. We are not satisfied with promises or speeches: we measure value by what gets done, not by what is said. The experience accumulated over decades of technological changes and social crises gave us a practical and resilient perspective, one that taught us to prioritize the essential and execute with efficiency. That mix of maturity and judgment allows us to turn complexity into concrete solutions.

Younger generations, such as Gen Z, stand out for their communication power, their digital agility, and their ability to amplify messages in seconds. But that’s where the difference lies: while they master the language of immediacy, Generation X knows how to translate those narratives into sustainable strategies. We have the wisdom that comes from experience and the patience of having seen trends and fashions come and go without being swept away. In an intergenerational work environment, our advantage is clear: we channel the energy and creativity of others toward real objectives, guided by a compass set on results and lasting learning.

In practice, we see it every day in diverse work environments: a Generation X professional can lead a digital transformation project by ensuring strategy, deadlines, and profitability, while a Gen Z colleague drives visibility through viral campaigns and fresh narratives that capture the market. In sales teams, the experience of Gen X sets the tone in negotiation and long-term client relationships, while Gen Z innovates with automation tools and interactive content to generate leads. Even in critical areas such as cybersecurity or data analysis, Gen X contributes with judgment and risk perspective gained from years of management, while Gen Z optimizes response speed and user experience.

Ultimately, the greatest difference appears in how we deal with the path toward results: Generation X manages stress with calm and perspective, because we’ve lived through it before, while Generation Z brings freshness and speed, although sometimes with less tolerance for pressure. This combination, far from being a clash, becomes a powerful alliance. X and Z do not compete—they complement each other. The first provide direction and resilience; the second, energy and expansion. Together they make it possible for companies to achieve objective results without losing agility or clarity of purpose.

Hay personas que siembran sin ver la cosecha, que enseñan sin esperar aplausos, y que guían aún cuando el camino no es suyo. Esos somos los : arquitectos del pensamiento, guardianes silenciosos del conocimiento, y faros que iluminan. Más allá de impartir lecciones, los buenos docentes tratamos de despertar la curiosidad, sembrar confianza, mientras damos a cada estudiante una chispa para encender su propio fuego interior.

En un mundo que cambia a velocidad de vértigo, los profesores seguimos siendo el ancla y la brújula. Somos quienes adaptamos nuestra vocación a nuevas herramientas sin perder el corazón en esta labor: tocamos vidas, transformamos futuros, y construímos humanidad. Porque enseñar no es repetir contenidos, sino abrir puertas invisibles hacia el asombro. Y en esa misión, cada buen maestro deja una huella que, aunque a veces pase desapercibida, se convierte en parte esencial del camino de quienes tuvimos la suerte de cruzarnos con ellos.

En esta oportunidad quiero dar gracias a todos mis colegas por el compañerismo de siempre, y especialmente al Rector de la UEES - Universidad Espíritu Santo mi amigo Isidro Fierro, Ph.D, MBA, por su apoyo incondicional.

Ahora inicio una nueva etapa con UEES Online, desde donde puedo aprovechar aún más mi experiencia como . Enseñar en digital no reemplaza el aula, pero sí amplifica el impacto cuando se conecta con propósito.
