🌟A Day of Language, Culture,and Community🌟

Last Saturday, our students enjoyed an unforgettable educational excursion through the beautiful region of Azuay.

We began our journey in San Bartolomé, where we enjoyed a traditional Ecuadorian breakfast of delicious humitas and tamales before learning about the fascinating craft of guitar making, a tradition that has been passed down through generations.

Next, we traveled to Chobshi to experience the celebration of Inti Raymi and explore the remarkable Cueva Negra, an important archaeological site that offers a glimpse into Ecuador’s ancient past.

Our adventure continued at the Chobshi Museum, where we deepened our understanding of the rich heritage and traditions of the Cañari Culture.

For our students, these experiences are much more than sightseeing. They are opportunities to practice Spanish in real-life situations, connect with local communities, and gain a deeper appreciation for Ecuadorian history and culture.

At our school, we believe that language learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. Days like this help our students build confidence, create meaningful friendships, and become part of our community while discovering the incredible cultural treasures of Ecuador.

Enrollment open for Spanish Classes at ¡Vamos!

Learn practical, real-life Spanish, build confidence for everyday situations, and connect through culture, conversation, and community. At Vamos, communication comes first—through practical language, small groups, and hands-on cultural activities that help you use Spanish confidently in your everyday life in Cuenca.

We’re now enrolling for Spanish courses starting Jun 29/30 and Jul 06/07, available for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels.

Our small group classes (maximum 5 students) follow a relaxed but steady pace, with sessions held twice a week, two hours each day, over five weeks (20 total hours). An initial level assessment ensures you’re placed in the right group. Courses are specially designed for students over 50 (but not exclusively), with a strong focus on listening and speaking skills.

Course fee: $150 — includes a workbook and access to three cultural activities every other Friday (Ecuadorian cooking, fruit tasting, guided walks, dance, film screenings).

Our approach:
Communicative, real-life contexts with games, interaction, and cultural relevance.

Fully qualified, experienced teachers who understand both the rational and emotional sides of language learning.

Spanish Course for Teenagers (Ages 13–17) 🤩

Designed specifically for teenagers, this intensive Spanish course offers a dynamic and engaging learning experience tailored to young learners. Students can enroll for one week or two weeks, with the course beginning on Monday, July 6th.

Through a communicative approach, students will build confidence speaking Spanish, improve their fluency, and expand their vocabulary. Classes are taught by a teacher who specializes in working with children and teens and include games, interactive activities, and real-life communication practice to make learning both effective and enjoyable.

Classes are limited to a maximum of 5 students, ensuring a personalized and supportive learning environment. The course also includes a workbook with all necessary materials, as well as access to the school's Friday cultural activities, such as guided city tours, Ecuadorian cooking classes, fruit tastings, Latin American film screenings, and much more.

The course price is $145 per week. A special discount is available for students who choose the two-week program.

New intensive Spanish course starts in June at ¡Vamos!🤩

Designed for intermediate-level students, this course will help you communicate more accurately and naturally in Spanish. You will learn how to use the future and conditional tenses to talk about plans, predictions, possibilities, and hypothetical situations. You will also work on some of the areas that students often find challenging, such as the differences between por and para, qué and cuál, and other key grammar and vocabulary points. Through communicative activities, discussions, and real-life situations, you will gain confidence and improve your fluency in Spanish.

The course begins on June 22nd. Students may enroll for one week (20 hours), two weeks (40 hours), or three weeks (60 hours), depending on their goals and availability.

The cost of the one-week course is $145. A special discount is available for students who choose the three-week program.

Groups are limited to a maximum of 5 students, creating a personalized and supportive learning environment. The course also includes a workbook with all necessary materials, as well as access to the school’s Friday cultural activities, such as guided city tours, Ecuadorian cooking classes, fruit tastings, Latin American movies, and more.

El viernes pasado nos pusimos el delantal y nos adentramos en uno de los sabores más tradicionales del Ecuador: el cevichocho. 🍅🌽🍋

Durante nuestra clase de cocina ecuatoriana, los estudiantes prepararon este plato fresco, nutritivo y lleno de historia, aprendiendo no solo nuevas recetas, sino también vocabulario y costumbres locales.

Creemos que el mejor aprendizaje ocurre cuando el idioma se vive: conversando, cocinando, compartiendo y creando experiencias juntos. Porque aprender español va mucho más allá del aula; es conectar con las personas, la cultura y los pequeños momentos que hacen especial cada día.

Esta semana nos despedimos de dos estudiantes maravillosos de Suiza, Necla y Michael, después de tres semanas de estudio intensivo con nosotras. Fue un gusto acompañarlos en su aprendizaje y compartir tantos buenos momentos juntos.💙 Les deseamos lo mejor en sus viajes, que conozcan a personas lindas como ellos y que sigan practicando mucho su español por Sudamérica.

New intensive Spanish course starts in June at ¡Vamos!

It starts June 1st and students can choose a one-week (20 hours), two weeks (40 hours), or three weeks (60 hours) course.

Our intensive Spanish course is designed specifically for intermediate students who already feel comfortable with the basics and want to push their Spanish to a more fluent, confident, and natural level. With an intensive schedule built around daily immersion and consistent speaking practice, the course is ideal for students who are ready to make fast, noticeable progress in a short period of time.

Through meaningful real-life interaction, students will strengthen their fluency, expand their vocabulary, improve their accuracy, and communicate with greater confidence and ease. Adapted short novels and real Spanish-language podcasts will also be used to develop listening comprehension and encourage natural conversation in class. An initial assessment will be provided to ensure the course is the right fit for your level and goals.
