Mindset Academy is getting back with another training! The “Programming journey: Problem Solving” training will heavily focus on fundamental skills to create performant solutions.


To achieve this goal, we would start by understanding our primary tool, the programming language:

- From what a value is and how it is represented to structures, scopes, functions, recursion and overloading.
- We would dive deeper to understand concepts that many miss on their learning journey such as the call stack, types of memory, how the program actually manage those memories and much more.


With the above, you would have a very good understanding of the language, but! We need to understand how to combine all those concepts. In the second part of the training we will learn:

- Different strategies you can use when designing a solution such as Divide & Conquer, Dynamic Programming, Backtracking, Incremental and greedy solutions.
- How to evaluate those solutions by estimating their complexity.
- Different data structures that will heavily affect the capabilities and performance of your program, such as Graphs, Hash tables, heaps, Segment trees, Prefix trees … etc


We will use Java as a programming language, and you know what? We would see 30+ problems and some directly taken from the curriculum of universities such as Stanford.


Training length: A month and half, 6 sessions of 4 hours each.
Training price: 10 000 DZD (instead of 14 000 DZD).

Mindset Academy revient avec une autre formation! La formation "Programming journey: Problem Solving" se concentrera fortement sur les compétences fondamentales pour créer des solutions performantes.


Pour atteindre cet objectif, nous commencerons par comprendre notre outil principal, le langage de programmation :

- À partir de ce qu'est une valeur et comment elle est représentée aux structures, portées de variables, fonctions, récursivité et surcharge de fonctions.
- Nous nous approfondirons plus pour comprendre les concepts que beaucoup ignorent dans leur parcours d'apprentissage, tels que la pile d'appels, les types de mémoire, la façon dont le programme gère réellement ces mémoires et bien plus encore.


Avec ce qui précède, vous aurez une très bonne compréhension du langage, mais! Nous devons en plus comprendre comment combiner tous ces concepts. Dans la deuxième partie de la formation, nous apprendrons :

- Différentes stratégies que vous pouvez utiliser lors de la conception d'une solution telles que Divide & Conquer, la programmation dynamique, le backtracking, les solutions incrémentales et gourmandes.
- Comment évaluer ces solutions en estimant leur complexité.

At Mindset Academy we were very happy to deliver a special training on Graphic Design & Photoshop for an agency's staff.

We've learnt more about our clients, worked on their needs and overall shared a great time with them.

It’s okay, we got your back.

If you’re like most mortals, you procrastinated, you didn’t revise your lessons in time and you’re stressing between two YouTube videos. *Relax*, here is some advice to minimize damages.

The golden rule: Don’t download a series, it’s a trap.

Now here is the secret to NOT retain anything from your lecture (because obviously you have like 6-8 points on the lectures and you really need them), *passive reading*, it’s when you read the lecture just for reading, what you want to do is to read it once to get an overall picture and restart reading it with the purpose of understanding. In this step write down some questions to ask to the students that attended the course :D

Now, there is a trap, if you successfully understood the lecture, you would have the illusion that it’s in your memory.. NOPE, it’s just in your short memory, what you need to do is trying to explain what you are reading, here you will be obliged to explain it from memory and also you would make the concepts you learned clearer.

If you want to watch a movie/video (and you will), watch it before your last study attempt, the last thing you want your brain to process is the course materials. First thing to do when you wake up is to reread the lecture to consolidate information (will you remember the lecture your whole life? Nope, but you will until you pass your exam :D).

Oh, and get at least 5 hours of sleep, or you will be too tired to think clearly, also, get some calories.

For those who are relaxing before the exam, you just lost 4 points, stay focus, reread everything right before the exam. Now, when you enter the exam hall, take your exam paper and write down every information related to the lecture’s question way before answering them. Do you recall when we were memorizing history and sometimes you just need the beginning of a sentence to recall the whole sentence? Well, here you are doing the same, because quite frankly, you will forget most of the lecture 15 minutes in.

And remember writing nonsense is more valuable than leaving the paper blank (who knows maybe you will write something that makes sense). After that, you just need a miracle, so, prayer is your best hope.

After you finished, go home, like seriously don’t ask people, just… go home. For the next exam day, go back to the top, apply the advice again.
