It's been an exciting and impactful journey with the pioneering cohort of the MentorMe With David program. This journey has been nothing short of an eye-opener, giving back to the international students community while growing oneself.
One of my goals when I decided to launch this program was to share my vast knowledge and experiences gained as an international student in Algeria and to ensure that the younger generation does build on those experiences and most importantly, end up achieving the best versions of themselves in Algeria while getting the most they can abroad.
I would like to celebrate these brave ones who took the bold step and enrolled in this program because I am undoubtedly certain that this will be the difference maker. To my mentees Charles Djoumessi, Kunashe Chiomberegwa, KWIKIRIZA MORIS, Caesar Obot, Marisa Pires, PIUS MURUNGI, Beinomugisha and Musonda Evaristo, I hope you will go ahead from here to become the best versions of yourselves and to make the most out of your stay in Algeria. You're the trailblazers for a reason🏅
I would like to recognise Caesar Obot and Marisa Pires as the best mentees of these cohort. They weren't just dedicated to the mentionship but also fully committed to learning while completing every task given to them.
My best wishes dear Trailblazers✨

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐞
I woke up today thinking about my entire life, from childhood to adolescence and now adulthood. It has been nothing short of a journey guided by God, motivated by purpose, and sustained by resilience.
From a shy little boy who struggled with reading to a teenager who was buried in low self-esteem, to a young adult who chose to leave his weaknesses behind and pursue God's given dreams, and now to an adult who is dedicated to growth and helping others grow.
Today one lesson stands out for me and that is: "𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝑛𝑜 𝑙𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑡𝑒 𝑒𝑥𝑐𝑢𝑠𝑒𝑠 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑛𝑜𝑡 𝑡𝑜 𝑜𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑐𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝑙𝑖𝑚𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 ℎ𝑎𝑣𝑒 ℎ𝑒𝑙𝑑 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑏𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 𝑎𝑐ℎ𝑖𝑒𝑣𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑤𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒"
If I had 2️⃣ wishes to make, they would be:
✅𝑃𝑠𝑎𝑙𝑚𝑠 25:4-5 "𝑆ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑚𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑤𝑎𝑦𝑠, 𝐿𝑜𝑟𝑑, 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑐ℎ 𝑚𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑝𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑠. 𝐺𝑢𝑖𝑑𝑒 𝑚𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑡𝑟𝑢𝑡ℎ 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑡𝑒𝑎𝑐ℎ 𝑚𝑒, 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑟𝑒 𝐺𝑜𝑑 𝑚𝑦 𝑆𝑎𝑣𝑖𝑜𝑟, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑚𝑦 ℎ𝑜𝑝𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑖𝑛 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑎𝑙𝑙 𝑑𝑎𝑦 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔."
✅𝑃𝑠𝑎𝑙𝑚𝑠 139:23-24 "𝑆𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ 𝑚𝑒, 𝐺𝑜𝑑, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑚𝑦 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡; 𝑡𝑒𝑠𝑡 𝑚𝑒 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑘𝑛𝑜𝑤 𝑚𝑦 𝑎𝑛𝑥𝑖𝑜𝑢𝑠 𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ𝑡𝑠. 𝑆𝑒𝑒 𝑖𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑖𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑦 𝑜𝑓𝑓𝑒𝑛𝑠𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑖𝑛 𝑚𝑒, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑙𝑒𝑎𝑑 𝑚𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑎𝑦 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔."
And if I had 5️⃣ advices to give, they would be:

When I became the President of the Mora Mentorship Platform last year I had my fears for the unknown as it was a new path for me, though I had lead the Association of Nigerian Students in (ANSA) as the Vice President the previous year, and was leading the Ceeco Algeria as the President, I knew leading a platform that was all about students mentorship was going to be different journey and experience entirely.
Driven by the desire to give back to international students community and to help students make the most out of their academic journey in Algeria, I knew I had to face giant called the "unknown" in order to bring these desires to life. But I wasn't going to face this alone, I had a super team and this is where my courage was built.
Together as a team, we went on to build the Mora Mentorship , and executed free mentorship programs that impacted over 200 international students through in-group sessions, the '24 which was a big success.
And through this journey of facing the unknown, students benefitted from shared knowlege and experiences from our mentors in the following areas:
✅Understanding the Algerian Academic System.
✅Language Learning
✅Cultural and Social integration
✅Personal and career development
I always thought it was going to be all about us giving out to students but I came to realise that I grew in the process of helping to make the journey of students easier. Through offering mentorship and leadership the amazing 2025 board
✅I learnt accountability in leadership
✅Improved my team leadership skills
✅I became better with communication
✅Most importantly, I learnt empathy.
Shout out to these amazing individuals David Gbadebo , Moïse Selph , Hamadoun Bamia , Kieran Kamwendo Sibongile Phiri, Valerie Mazingi, Ruvarashe Hama , David Abraham, YANG-YABE Biakba Wanba , Christiana Okoyomoh , ANDREW OCAN with whom I was able to conquer "My unknown", I must say, I succeeded because your support and commitment and we made impact as a team.
To the new leadership board Tapiwa Simango , Isaac Lony Matai Biel, Grace Chisala, Vimbainashe Nomsa Mututi , Langelihle Tamara Ndlovu , Morgan Gondwe Jr. , KWIKIRIZA MORIS , Nsalasatta Graca , Kunashe Chiomberegwa , I believe in your capacity and I know you can build on what we've done in the past one year. You can achieve greater success in helping the make the journey of internation students in Algeria a little bit easier. And whenever your're faced with your own gaint, remember that "𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐧"

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐡
In 2019, when I left home for , it was a dream come true for me, as I had just gained the Bilateral Educational Agreement(BEA) scholarship and my dream of studying abroad was finally coming to pass.
I left med school to pursue my dream of studying abroad and fast forward to 2020, I had a crucial decision to make, to abandon the and pursue my passion. And I took that bold decision to pursue . It must have been a disappointment for those who already referred to me as "Our young Doctor," hahaha.
As a student who was doing exceptionally well in med school, I knew I needed to maintain the same academic performance in Algeria in order to justify my bold decision.
To cut the story short, I was met with terrible depression that resulted from a deep fear of failure after my first two weeks in class as I couldn't navigate my studies. I thought I had taken the wrong path, and I was headed for failure. This became a significant period of my life as I had to choose between accepting defeat or facing the gaint.
However, I never gave up and I kept reaching out for until I understood the new academic system I was now into and that helped me conquer the Algerian system of , staying on top of my specialty for 9 consecutive semesters and graduating with first-class honors and as the class valedictorian for my BSc and MSc program.
It's 2025, 6 years later, and I am wondering:
✅How many students faced the same challenge as mine, when I started my studies as a foreign student in Algeria?
✅How many have failed repeatedly and have forgotten that they were once brilliant and excellent scholars who left home to pursue their dreams?
✅How many students have given up their dreams due to the same challenge of navigating a system that is completely new to them?
✅How many students must have given into depression and ended their own lives as they felt hopeless?
When some of these questions kept reoccuring in my mind last year, I co-founded the free Mora Mentorship Platform with Gbadebo David and together with our team Phiri, Bamia Kieran Panashe Kamwendo Selph Mazingi, Hama and Dave, we've impacted over 200 students in Algeria.
And now, I believe there is even more that could be achieved, especially through personalised mentorship programs where individual students can be given special attention. That's why I am glad to announce the launch of the 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐌𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦.
It's a personalised mentorship program for international students in Algeria with the aim of helping individual students navigate the Algerian academic system and tackle the problems peculiar to them as individuals. The goal of this program is to help students achieve their academic goals and transform their efforts into results.
📌Registration for the October cohort is ongoing. Only 15 slots available!
